Has Ukraine collapsed

I don’t really see the difference in what Putin is doing compared to Kennedy
Russia doesn’t want Nukes from the West in Ukraine.
Maybe Rusk could offer Venezuela some Nukes?

I trust Russia more than the US and the corruption that is now ingrained

Kennedy stopping nukes in Cuba isn't the same as invading your peaceful neighbour.

Kennedy didn't annex Havana "for safety."

Ukraine wasn't hosting Western nukes.

The Nation did, however, host Soviet nukes....

Remember?

You should if you are old enough to remember Kennedy.

And comparing U.S. corruption to Russia's is like comparing a leaky tap to a burst sewage pipe.

As for giving Venezuela nukes, that won't end well either, if it were ever to become a thing.

Trust whichever country you like, but Putin didn't invade for the historical reenactment value.

Peaceful, really, I think I can’t be bothered with such ignorance

It's not difficult to find selected facts that support that view. The media is full of them.

The mythical 'objective perspective' remains more elusive.

Confidently say that about the UK the EU and the US
Why would Putin withdraw

And, the US interfered with Cubas sovereignty

Yeah, the Cold War was fun.

I mean, who did not like to live with the constant threat of nuclear annihilation on the horizon?

Duck and cover eh?

And while we are at it, let's bring back lead paint.  Saint2

If either Russia gets nothing but more slivers of land for a million more causalities and 4 more years of war, and all the other woes that brings, or the Russia people start to wake up and demand peace.

I sometimes watch journalists/podcasters interview ordinary Russian people, they seem like they have given up - their indoctrination and surrender is complete. However, now that Ukraine is targeting refineries and energy targets, with what is described as surgical accuracy and nearer to population centers, it may light a fire under ordinary Russians to wake up and protest.

It just appears to me that Ukraine and NATO are targeting Putin's oil cash flow in different ways - hit him in his wallet - but then Putin turns around and says 'he has secrets that he can now use' - whatever that means - nuclear threat?

The way it looks now it's a stalemate and where do they both go from here?

I agree, I think Ukraine finally being allowed to hit Russian infrastructure with it's weapons is bringing the invasion of Ukraine into normal Russians daily lives, and hurting the Kremlins income.
The recent attacks on Russia's ghost fleet is also losing Putin cash, and hopefully make the missions more treacherous for those involved.

It does look more like a stalemate but I don't think it's a forever war.  People have to remember that Russia was the supposed 2nd greatest military force before this, they burnt (literally) through huge quantities of equipment and soldiers for 20% of Ukraine over 4 years. To a point that they've had to go cap in hand to it's allies, and nobody is giving Russia drones and soldiers for free.
This all mounts up and must be pretty hard to bare for the Kremlin and Russian in general.

It's not for me to judge, but I think Ukraine should give Donbas and other parts thereof to Putin and Trump (they still have that minerals contract, right?) and Zelensky and Trump can work out Ukraine's left over pieces of the cut up pie to Ukraine's advantage, of course with NATO and US oversight that Putin will not invade again. But, maybe I am naive and just want world peace, so concessions are worth it (?)

If Trump can pull this off with bribery and mutual beneficial economic and sovereignty securities, then give him the Nobel Peace Prize - get it done.
