Where's the lie? And if you think it matters a damn whether you or I support or oppose, well I will just note that the geopolitical realities and consequent agendas remain the same, regardless. Politics is the art of the possible, but the art what is allowed to be possible is statecraft and the raw wielding of power, and you cannot even definitively name who is doing that, much less control them. The analysis of the State Department seems to remain remarkably consistent, regardless of the occupant of the White House.

I know you don't like America, but the fact is that Denmark has treated Greenland like a red-headed stepchild, starved and locked in the basement and ignored, for decades. They're only getting all "We Luvz Our Greenies" now because their antiquated colonialist pride and do-nothing liberal self-image are threatened. They're winging up a storm and playing the peaceful European card, because no one remembers their bloody colonial history, and they're afraid as hell of an actual plebiscite. They're doing everything they can to spin that such a thing would be ridiculous.

First, England should listen to American statements regardless, because they've suffered centuries of having anyone with an iota of political independence leave and relocate to America, so their culture really can't generate anything more than a death-rattle shakeoff like Brexit, with no particular plan of what to do next. Second, the traditional values being diluted are that of a high-trust society, and surprisingly, it's not based on race in America in modern times as much as it is indicated by tribal self-protecting ingroups making outsiders feel threatened and abusing the social safety net. You might point to immigrants and race, because there is some of that along language lines, but the reality is much wider—look at the liberal academic ingroup takeover of news media, or the social justice warrior ingroup takeover of HR departments in corporate America. These ingroup/outgroup cancers are sand in the gears to a functioning high-trust society. Britain would do well to learn this, even if they want to portray everything as racism and fear of immigrants.

I'm already burning out over a semi-autonomous Danish territory and the pro-argument projecting their ratcheted prejudice.  Along with being bullies, there is a pig-headed justification to wear a victim card and take on the world. Because its owed to us for years of exploited charity

Last I heard Greenlandic natives wanted independence from Denmark
and since they make up about 90% of the population of Greenland,
they should have the final say
instead of Denmark speaking in their behalf.
