it's still hanging up trying to load "use.fontawesome.com".

i added a filter for "https://use.fontawesome.com/" to ublock origin and now the site is running like blazes!

i take it back, i swear it was really fast for a few minutes when i added that, now it's back to molasses-mode :(

it is much faster now no delays and seems functionally the same although there was a time earlier today when the site didn't load but i retried 30 seconds later and it worked and is fast and that is not just the caffeine talking nosiree!

although there is still a race condition after hitting 'post' where it will sometimes auto-save again during the delay, then when it automatically goes back to the thread it will pop-up and say there's autosaved content even though you just posted it.

i mean we can't have the bug list empty, after all.

I take that back.
When you click the Recent Alerts icon, it opens as it should.
When you click on the "check mark", it does not show as read.  It now takes you to the full Recent Alerts page, but the alert in question is still unread.
When you click the "X" it removes that alert.
