I've noticed that threads with lots of videos now take 100% CPU for 5-15 seconds to load. I guess this is a YouTube thing, because it also happens when I go there directly (not as long for a single video load, maybe 2-3 seconds).

BUT! I found a way to fix it! In the User Settings options on DI, there is an Edit Options link. In there, there's a checkbox under Thread View Options, "Display videos in posts". Turn this off, save the change, and threads now load again!

Plus, I imagine it deprives Google of whatever tracking data they collect, unless you actually click on a video link.

last few days, or maybe week, been noticing an addition delay loading "active threads" and "alerts popup". maybe 5 seconds or so?

anyone else getting this?

also seeing the delay on posting a reply, editing thread, etc... database change?

Yes, I have for about a week now. Takes 5-10 seconds to load everything.

While by no means an official response... I will add that I too have been observing laggy and or unusually slow processes as of about a week ago...

Of course, being a paranoid conspiracy theorist, I first sought to blame Microsoft for the obtuse blundering ham-handed autonomous manipulations of my system.... now that I have proven to be one of those stubborn irrational people who shun their latest OS release.

I should apologize to someone for being like that, I guess it is sort of ignorant to hate a giant commercial combine that much.

msft is built on the fact that it really doesn't matter if you hate them

but may i recommend ubuntu or linux mint?

Love them for performance... hate them for their flavor proliferation.

They made choosing an OS like buying "what someone else thinks' is a good bottle of wine.

Has something changed in the coding the last week or so? More specifically the last few days?
This forum used to scroll fast, load fast , as any other forum or web page, but the last few days, whether my Brave browser Shields are on or off, it scrolls like there is something loading in the background, very stuttering, slow.......

I see it same as you, but I'm not certain it is a problem with the site itself.   I have seen a similar problem with other sites that I frequent.   This, incidentally, is concurrent with my latest theme word:   Entropy.   We are seeing it all around us.  I think most of us used to be circling the bowl on the outer edge, however lately, I think we might have drifted in a few degrees.   I see it in items on the shelf that once were there.   I see it in structures that were apparently not maintained, and infrastructure that is degrading.   I think it is global.  Entropy.   Of course, most of what I just said probably doesn't apply to DI.

A lot of web hosts are all ran by one company under multiple brands. Usually as a result of acquisition. Shared hosting packages can be an issue because you're sharing resources with other websites that are doing God knows what.

I see an immediate difference.   Things are sharp and fast.
