Final countdown
#61
can someone explain the countdown timer in the footer of this page?  It's 9 AM on the east coast of the USA and the timer says 4 hours and 15 minutes to go.  That means the clock will run out at 13:15 ET, 18:15 BST, 19:15 CET.  Seems like an odd end-of-life timestamp for the domain name.

That's the predicted time ... more or less ... that ATS is supposed to go dark and off the air.

From left to right
1st pair of digits is days
second is hours
third is minutes
fourth is seconds

Of course, approximately.

I'm waiting for the world to explode or implode when it hits zero and we find out this is all just a dream.

Okay, as I’ve previously mentioned, I have a domain through Godaddy. I just got off the phone with them. I specifically asked them about the process of a domain, in the case of non-payment.

Here is the skinny:

- The site will go down from the internet within 7-10 days from May 18th (if there is no auto renew).

- The site will be suspended, but will still show in the owners Godaddy account for 30 days after the 18th.

- There is an $80 late fee (if the site is suspended) for the owner to pay the dues and keep the site within the 30 day time period.

- At the 30 day mark, the domain will be auctioned off.

- If no one buys it at auction, the owner retains the right to buy it back.

In conclusion, if there is no auto renew, ATS will go down some time between May 25th - 28th. As I’ve also previously mentioned, the owner would be the biggest moron on the planet to let the domain expire over a $34.98 fee to renew for a year. If this does happen, he’s either dead or in jail.

I guess I didn't understand the thread lol...not the first time and undoubtedly not my last comprehension problem. Glad the bill was paid and it will survive a little longer as plenty of wisdom and denial of ignorance in those pages.
