Tumbleweeds....is anyone following this?

Tonight I finish work in ten go home shower, Lidl lasagne demi bagette and McCain chips with doppls of brown sauce. Alcohol free Heineken as band from alcohol by the NHS. Then set up the new projector from Lidl as bought a HDMI cable earlier, see if it projects the game.

I like Croatia. not their past at all. But as a sporting nation pound for pound they are pretty good. Plus they do seem to actually have natives in the team.  Yugoslav's in general make excellent athletes. Heaven's above, if this tiny nation had 100 million folk they'd rule the sporting world. Always a pleasant surprise to watch them indeed it's a gem to watch the Croat pass the ball around.

We are the youngsters, they are the old ones. Who knows but.............. Come on England! I'll never break into tears again like 1986, all taken with a pinch of salt these days. Eleven grown men chasing a piece of inflated pig skin. Crazy really how things go. Yet it brings out the passion in us. Tonight as an English man we go to war. Crotia's a real game. Not quite in the same league as playing the German or the Argentinian. But close. Come on England!

Indeed.  As an English commentator once said before an England Germany game:

"We should not be upset if tonight Germany beats us at our national sport, we beat them twice at theirs"

 Wink2

Croatia could be our nemesis, but their players are aging.

Come on England!

I just want to make a thread while the World Cup is still in the beginning stage. Hadn’t seen one as of just yet. Mostly to celebrate teams from all over coming to NA and the U.S. in particular to give it a go at the championship title. Even as the unfortunate controversy of pricing overshadows the FIFA World Cup, it’s been a blast so far!

There have been some wonderful matches that have been played so far (including a couple stunners) and I’m actually really looking forward to the games moving forward. Even as I’m not a regular soccer fan.

As an aside, I also want to thank the folks coming from around the world to experience the games here for the first time in over three decades. From the Tartan Army in Boston, to Algeria in Lawrence, KS, to the romance between Mexico and South Korea. Thank you.

As a yank, I’m apparently one of many that didn’t know how badly we needed you all to come here and enjoy our country, our hospitality, our food, shopping, National Park, etc. It really means the world to us that all that you e heard isn’t at all true. And like being a parent, it’s been such a joy enjoying our country through your eyes.

With much gratitude, thank you from America!

Hope yall enjoy the World Cup wherever you are!
Damn!

Thanks for making the thread. I’m late to the party, but I didn’t see one yet so made one. Mods, close mine or move it if you’d like and that’s okay.

Cheers DI!
