It all comes back to Trump's lies which have and continue to incite actual violence or increased death threats to those whom he calls 'traitor' or those who disagree with him. Evidence: Capitol police lawsuit against him. Marjorie Taylor Greene claiming an increase in death threats after Trump called her 'traitor'. 

"Sen. Mark Kelly said Monday he and his family have seen threats to their lives increase since President Trump called for the Arizona Democrat and a group of other Democratic lawmakers to be executed after they urged service members to refuse illegal orders."

It's all connected; the cover ups, the obstruction of justice, the political rhetoric to incite his base to commit violence in his name, his continued rhetoric calling for the execution of people and calling other people 'traitor'.

Brian Cole Jr. is just another hapless pro-Trumper who believed Trump's lies and calls to stop the transfer of power. He even called Mike Pence a 'coward' if he didn't stop the certification, of which he had no authority to do so. I suppose all the other Republicans that were going to certify the transfer of power on Jan. 6 were also 'traitors', so much so that someone like Brian Cole Jr. perhaps felt that he needed to put a stop to it by blowing up buildings.
