F-47 fighter

This is the best rendition and explanation of the new F-47 I have seen...Why; simply because I agree with the size and modeling because the Pacific theater IMO creates a whole new set of problems in a war with China. A war I hope never happens....

At 300 million a pop lets hope the F-47 is delivered without all the multi-year bugs that need to be fixed for another couple of million every few months. When has any MIC manufacturer delivered without the normal cost over runs and emergency A.D.s (airworthiness Directives) that must be fixed immediately less important pieces of you gold plated machine starts falling off ! Probably not since WW2..

This guy has a lot of good video's. He is a former fighter pilot.
“The American press is a shame and a reproach to a civilized people. When a man is too lazy to work and too cowardly to steal, he becomes an editor and manufactures public opinion.”

Looks like a MIG-31 Firefox with the verticle stabilizers removed.

Hollywood tech from the 1980s. I wonder if the weapon system is similar.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

I’ve been interested in stealth aircraft design for years, and something about that F-47 preview doesn’t sit right. Specifically, the presence of canards raises serious questions.

For those less familiar: canards are the small foreplanes located ahead of the main wings. While they can enhance maneuverability, they are a known liability for stealth. This is because they reflect radar energy, especially when they move. That constant shifting makes them extremely difficult to shape in a way that consistently minimizes radar returns.

On top of that, more control surfaces mean more potential radar reflections. Stealth design depends on simplification and edge alignment. Anything that breaks up a clean radar profile is typically avoided.

So, when I saw canards on the F-47 preview, my first reaction was that this must be misdirection. Whether it's a tech demonstrator, a prototype airframe, or a deliberate decoy image, I don’t believe this is what the final operational platform will look like.

If this aircraft is part of NGAD or a related program, it will likely incorporate the most advanced stealth features possible. It would not take steps backward into design compromises we moved past decades ago. Until we see something more definitive, I am viewing that image as smoke and mirrors.

Thoughts?

I was thinking something similar. I think when the Raider drawings came out similar to the final design, people expect the same thing with the F-47 will be true. I have the feeling that in this case, they’re using a rendering by someone that was done on their own, because it’s close enough, and the final design will be different.

Video of the F-47 flying... well sort of, haha.
