Also, what of degree? Is writing fiction gaslighting? Is fiction therefore evil?

Give us a robust bit of rational analysis, don't just make unsupported, and possibly unsupportable, statements. We are trying to have philosophical dialogue here, not shouting insults.

Gaslighting is manipulative lying; telling someone that what they know is true is not-true.

I was pointing out that all those dictionary definitions of 'evil' (with the exception of Wikipedia) make no mention of either 'truth' or 'falsehood' as part of those definitions.

You can follow the links and read the definitions for yourself and verify that I was not lying.

You were asked a simple question. 

And if you had bothered to read the entirety of the thread.

You would see clearly top of page 2 where i have suggested nature entertains no illusions where evil is concerned.

Good and evil are human constructs we created so as to make sense of our morality and behavior. 

I simply wanted to know how you imagined evil factored into our life cycle regarding the human condition.

Apparently, the use of the word "Woke" has been around in Black communities for decades.

Long before it entered mainstream usage.

As far as i can determine, somebody called Huddie Ledbetter aka "Lead Belly" used it in a 1940s interview. 

Where he said to "stay woke" pertaining to "the Scottsboro Boys" who were nine Black teenagers falsely accused of raping two white women.

You didn't ask me ... but ...

Gaslighting is manipulation through lies.
Lies are the opposite of good and truth.
Therefore gaslighting is evil.

Writing fiction isn't evil because it doesn't try to mislead or manipulate.
It presents itself clearly as it is ... a story to entertain.

I do not appreciate being called a liar.   
I have read Confessions.   
That's irrelevant to what I said.

I said that I originally disagreed, but then thought about it and think it could be true.
