Do Spoken Words Have Metaphysical Power?
#11
an interesting point for example have you noticed that politicans almost never lie?  what's that you say, of course they lie all the time!  but haha no if you parse their words the competent ones are always technically telling the truth and as we all know technical truth is the tastiest and crunchiest kind of truth.  and all that is perhaps practical so they don't get purjuiried or soundbitten and such, but also theres a kind of magic to it too, where you lead people into filling in the blanks themselves in the ways they predisposed to, hearing what they want to hear, projecting, choosing the context to hear things in that makes them happycudchew and noworry.  that way its their fault for choosing to be deceived.  trump tells that damn riverscoprion story a hella lot doesnt he?  its stumbleblocking, a way to milk the power of consent from peoples sinful self deceiption.  we're trained for this as americans with ideaism dreams and patriotfap freedomsmarm, and noone actually forces you to believe the bs, its just really really hard not to fall into the flocking and schooling behaviours, but if you dont try you get what you deserve which in my wimpy opinion is really kinda cruel but it is what it is and life is hard i guess

edit to add that this is an inbubble answer, right, like fish in water all the time, and that this may be an emergent effect of the american advertising industrys 20th spiral or whatever, not a univesal effect and bubbles burst, fair warning, bs is not a solid foundation for a house much less a culture or empires, but it does grow some pretty flowers

Puzzled

you know how old people say "cheese" when being selfied and smile with their teeth like their going to bite you?

well now you are suppoed to say "shoes" instead so you smile proper and dont look creepy.

is that spoken word power especially with like timetravel photo snapshot happening?

well i dont know but it is interesting isnt it, i wonder what other countries and ancient peoples said when they took selfies.

edit; you know what i mean, when they posed for their al frescos and such

i would have to say that it isn't the words themselves that has power, but the mind of the person "hearing them" that manifests them physically in their own body. remember reading about experiments being done concerning this back in the day. (sorry, no sources) that is the same way "curses" work. the mind is a really powerful thing. although, a person with malevolent intent, could probably manipulate an individual with the right words, so in that regard, Words do indeed have power :)
Nothing is impossible, the impossible just takes a little longer to achieve.

Many year ago, a distant relative of my mother died inside a freezer-room that he thought was turned on. When he was found he had all the signs of having died because of the (non existing) cold.

exactly! also, you have probably heard of or seen the videos of a person getting physical blisters on the body after being "burned" by a cold object. the person in question believed that the object was glowing hot. it is basically the same thing.
