Different take on Charlie Kirk

I don't think you even know what your point is. You've admitted several times in the course of the last hour that you are confused by who said what and even by what you have said, or even what we were discussing.   You really need some help

The only reason for the confusion is that you and one other member here are very insulting and demeaning when unable to defend their point in a discussion. Same tactics, same political leaning...it's not hard to make those types of mistakes.

And you always deflect the discussion which is another underhanded tactic which you seem to think nobody notices. We notice. We see you.

You can't look at yourself and see the same fault can you?   You belittle someone by calling them clown, a personal insult and nothing to do with political beliefs, and yet you're acting the innocent party here.

Except you are missing one key ingredient.....I am not demonizing. You are getting offended by the words I am using, there is a large difference.

Now if I was calling you a Nazi or a Fascist then you could say I was demonizing you. See the difference?

Are you arguing that the pen is mightier than the sword?

I think it's true words can stir deep emotional responses. There is also a certain responsibility we all have to not allow words to be the catalyst for violence however as we continue to see not everyone has that restraint. In this setting Mr. Kirk was trying to promote the idea that it's okay to talk about things even with your emotions or beliefs in a way to separate the emotional parts from the logical arguments and through that maybe find some middle ground of we may not agree on much but that's okay we can all still live together. I think some people get fired up from propaganda and rhetoric and then deny the conversations and go straight to violence weather that is by agenda or just a natural response to an outrageous claim. I doubt we ever see an end to these types of tragedies.

That exactly what you're doing and there is no difference, and I'm not offended by anything you've got to say.
You attempting to demonize and belittle the other member personally by calling them a clown. That has nothing to do with their political beliefs or your disagreement of them.

Generally speaking, I agree but how much responsibility can you expect from a deranged, indoctrinated, or mentally ill political extremist from either side that have free access to guns?

What I see in your country is anyone with murderous intentions can just pick up their gun or buy one (legally or illegally) and go out and remove their perceived problem.

SCOTT ADAMS:

"There are numerous stories of teachers and people associated with schools who are getting canceled—meaning fired—for saying horrible things: essentially being happy, or saying it was justified, that Charlie Kirk was assassinated.

What do you think about that?
People are losing their jobs all over the place.

Well, let me tell you the thing that is most shocking about that.
The most shocking thing is that the people who spoke out that way believed they wouldn’t get fired.

I think they were all surprised, which means they’ve been living entirely within a bubble in which they thought other people would agree with that.
Are you kidding me?

They thought they were in the bubble of reality where—let’s say that Hitler was an American and he died—would you feel bad about saying, “Thank God Hitler died”?

No, you wouldn’t, because you would assume that almost every single person would agree with you.
So it would be easy to say that.

These people are saying it in public for the world to see, as if that’s what a normal person would think.
How hypnotized would you have to be?"

I've been watching others' opinions that the government, like all other world governments on the authoritarian side, will seize this opportunity to crack down on free speech and people's rights to their benefit. It is what has historically been done and I won't be surprised if it will be done here.
