Perhaps it's the nature of activism to amplify an extreme point of friction... and turn it into a matter of 'personal identity.'
It was the way "raging feminism" got it's legs.
The same way the "bias' machine makes noise.
In the instance of "Gender identity" as a metric of 'citizenship' became a "toy" for activist media...
it made literally billions...
a lot of noise ... more warped "celebration" virtue signaling...
anything but peace... "Activism" was not intended to be a profitable nuisance, and many are being exploited.
And in some sense, They distanced their ostensible desires from the 'offending world' by cementing the topic as 'inflammatory" and 'to be avoided socially."
Thus damaging the "spirit" of that movement... (which am presuming was, 'Let us live in peace.')
No matter what institutional, doctrinal, or even 'traditional' foundations are agitated against it...
it remains a matter of personal choice and will to exercise whatever that individual feels...
not society, not social order, not a 'threat to faith,' all of which are "social" and clearly not personal.
In our reality... our person hood is the boundary no one can ever rightfully breach.
I will regret ever having made some person feel awkward for just presenting themselves...
That choice is theirs...
however contrived, it belongs squarely on each person to be who they are,
rather than pretend otherwise, and choosing to live in deceit even of yourself.
So the entire routine of "we've been oppressed as no others" which is the activist pabulum applied to (fill-in-the-blank) social grief almost defeats itself... the more pronounced, the more it elicits the opposite of the supposed goal... acceptance. Instead of coexisting... the activists must "make noise."
I celebrate that women are no longer bound to an imposed place in the civil order of society... I think the elimination of the 'statistic' as a 'modulus of influence' would be the best cleansing we could ever achieve.
Women know that they are not men.
Men know they are not women.
Seems like a bad test now doesn't it?
The ambivalence exploited by Activist of all types (yes, I'm risking engendering a bias) is to mistake the contention of synchronous symptoms of social ills, and calling them out selectively... as if they were real by itself.
The bias against "transgender women and men (less so)" manifests I think as a lesser echo of stringent homophobic sentiments... allowed more voice since the audience is a tiny fraction of those they often attribute as a "source" of the "problem".
The key point is that it is 'they themselves' that make it a problem in the first place.
These same groups embracing the "women have a place and it's blah blah blah"... never seem to see the abuses and exact same obtuseness in ... those OTHER biases they actually embrace ... just because.
And man-hating women never seem to tolerate the occulted, off-center question "almost every one of those men was raised by a woman... How is this so?"
