Here's another dam case from 1947:

The flying saucer Urie saw was skimming along through Snake River Canyon at a height of about 75 feet at 1:00 pm Wednesday.
At 9:30 am the same day, L. W. Hawkins, Twin Falls county commissioner and former county sheriff, also saw two circular objects soaring along at great speeds near Salmon Dam 40 miles south west of Twin Falls.

Police witness UFO over dam for 45 minutes.

Eupen, Belgium. At 5:24 p.m. on November 29, 1989, about 250 witnesses, in 143 separate observations, watched the same or a similar triangular or delta-winged craft maneuvering overhead at Eupen, Belgium. Two police officers in a patrol car were illuminated by a brilliant light beam from a dark triangular object hovering at 600–900 feet and making a faint humming noise. The light was so dazzling that “we could read a newspaper under it.” The UFO moved slowly away to the southwest, where it hovered near the Lac de la Gileppe dam for 45 minutes. Policemen Heinrich Nicoll and Hubert von Montigny watched it repeatedly emit two red beams with a red ball at the spearhead of both beams; the beams soon disappeared, leaving the red balls, which returned to the object. Then around 7:23 p.m., it moved further to the southwest and was seen over Spa for 30 minutes before it disappeared.

Read many of the water associated UAP sightings. Heard them, seen them on TV shows....the old site as well of course.
Remember a local TV special featuring UAPs/UFOs and water...many picking up water etc.

I would think the water deal is to split it into Oxygen to breath and Hydrogen for their fusion power...to power the crafts and the magnetic field drive....only guessing of course.

I remember the good ol Pine Gap thread, where some geologists camping near the base, in an observable position in the 1980s, claimed that they filmed a large cigar craft hover over the base and small orbs floated around and up and down to the base, then beams of golden light were flashed from the craft to the ground and corresponding different coloured beams flashed from the ground to the craft. It is aledged that Pine Gap has its own nuclear power station...ie like the subs. So who knows what those pesky USAnians get up to there under the ground. Its a CIA, NSA, ABC, Military secret base...so???
Then there is the Maslins Beach  sighting where an older chap saw a craft come out of the sea, fly over him at the beach...dropping seawater drops on him then flew off north.....he took some photos, but was called a fraud as usual. He was an ex Brit Air fighter pilot apparently...since past.
But yeah....The Others and water.....they seem to love it. Though not sure how much water is suppose to get them far in space? They say the Universe is full of water so, who knows?

Good to see you Gort mate and yes plenty of those incidents out there - Isaac recently made an info dump here in case you missed it.

As for collecting water god knows what's going on but that's some nice speculation right there - sounds a bit freaky but there are even reports of objects extending 'hose like' tubes lol (post).

Ah yes do remember that thread and the mind boggles when it comes to what US agencies are actually up to underground in Australia - your post also put me in mind of this freaky object witnessed over an Aussie NSA base as described in RAAF DOD documents.

Would love to know what that thing was.

(Unsubstantiated) testimony from a father recounting the time he and other teenagers witnessed a flying disc next to a dam.

Interesting to note there was a huge UFO flap across the US in October, 1973.

My Dad has shared this story with friends and family for decades... for Father's Day, we decided to document it/share it on Youtube. I can vouch for the consistency of the story... to be frank, the situation in which it took place isn't easy to talk about with your own kids. You'll understand if you give this a listen.
