We're looking for a few good members to build a Press Corps for the site. Members will receive Press credentials, including official badge, and will be expected to do occasional news stories and interviews in fields of their interest. There will be no number of story requirements, and members will discuss ideas amongst themselves as well as points of contact for potential interviews. Badges will come through the official United States Press Agency. They're a little on the expensive side to start, but will include a vehicle press pass, an official USPA press badge, and holder. These badges are officially recognized around the world, and along with a letter from the site can be used to get access to multiple events, and locations that you normally wouldn't be able to get in to.
If you're interested, an official application will be placed on the site, to get you access to the new forums, where the "newsroom" will be located. I will be overseeing things as the "editor", but it will be a very informal and relaxed room, and all ideas will be looked at for stories. Things will be starting up in the coming days, so keep your eyes open, and feel free to reply if you are interested, and we'll put your name in the hat for when it starts to go live.

Great initiative!
Unfortunately, time constraints rule out my participation. Also, being in Europe probably wouldn't be of much interest for D.I.

Perhaps you are right, but historically ATS rather prided itself on being global.

Such a cool idea
We need global participation, over the years I have been routinely "educated" by ATS members in the UK Europe Australia, Canada, and even New Zealand, on thier news and nuances
Even if regrettably Encia22 can't participate as a reporter, DI will need as many as possible,
If this works even the US would likely need regional participants in the future.

USPA Website Intriguing - a great idea.
I could be tempted but as I'm located in what is for many literally the arse end of the world - but for those of us who are here it is truly Gods Own Country - North East England, sadly I'm not entirely sure I'd be of much use.
I believe in this and its been tested by research, he who fucks nuns will later join the church.

Hi, I like the idea of D.I. reporting, but limiting it to mainly U.S. based activity leaves a few of us out of the loop a bit.
How about a parallel effort incorporating threads here to focus on research, NOT CHAT or waffle, but facts and links and evidence, with all participants jumping en-masse to scrutinise a single story at a time from as many perspectives as possible with extreme focus. Maybe some work on the site like that can help fuel the reporters you are now seeking by providing them with the leads to follow that we can't expand on further because of limited information scouring just the internet.
A collective effort with no badges needed here, but badges armed with questions and direction and free to go into the world to do battle on behalf of the site.
Wisdom knocks quietly, always listen carefully. And never hit "SEND" or "REPLY" without engaging brain first.

It won’t be a US centric effort. The USPA press pass is recognized around the world, and I’m certain there are similar organizations in other countries that can be used. The pass is mostly going to be used to try to open doors that might not be normally.

OK, I understand.
Sounds ambitious and great potential for us... nice!
Did you have any thoughts on my idea above?
