DI Press Corps is looking for reporters
#11
Very Interesting a great idea "following" I'm guessing equipment and travel is at a personal expense so mostly regionally specific unless retired and can chase stories. Looking forward to more information.

Agreed.
Our Old Place was where  I went FIRST for the news...wherever it happens.
It will  be GREAT when DI fills that void...and soon I hope.
Already a great place to read topics.
News reporting is like icing on the cake.

There's all kinds of stuff in that area, so you'd be valuable to have.

Yeah, it's generally going to be local area, but there is usually quite a bit that can be covered in any given area. I'm going to be fleshing some things out this weekend or early next week, and once we figure out the staff, we'll start bouncing ideas around. We have a forum for the reporters and a forum for public use.

Sounds ambitious and great potential for us... nice!

Did you have any thoughts on my idea above?

It's definitely something else we'll look at once we get our feet on the ground, and things figured out. I've been trying to open a couple doors myself, but haven't had much luck, which is where the idea for the credentials came from. But it's definitely something that can be tried with members that don't want to get the credentials, or don't have access to getting them.

I'm getting prodded to look into this.
Where I live there isn't a lot going on but with a few military bases nearby and Seattle and Tacoma an hour away, I'm sure stuff happens from time to time.

It wouldn’t necessarily have to be military, it could be anything that interests you in the area.

The stories are going to be up to the member that joins us. We’ll bounce ideas off each other, and if you’re doing an interview we’ll suggest questions, but outside of suggestions, it’s going to be up to the individual reporter what they want to try to cover.

There's a supposedly Haunted asylum close to me that host Ghost tours and some of the investigation groups show up from time to time that might be fun to report on a few tours and interview some of the investigators. Plus, I'm an hour outside of Dayton lots of stuff goes on there.

The only problem I see is to keep it rolling with fresh stories if it's daily, now a weekly Pod cast would be Ideal to start out.
