For the 7-day stretch from Aug 14 to Aug 21, 2025, Washington, DC, reportedly clocked in 0 homicides, a rare stat for a city that usually sees blood on the board nearly every single day.

To put it in perspective, in 2024, DC averaged almost 1 murder per day (over 250 homicides across the year), and earlier this summer, the city saw 5 killings in just a single weekend.

Now? A full week, clean slate.

Of course, no one’s saying DC suddenly turned into Mayberry.

Crime still exists, but for at least one week, the effect of the Trump administration on the city has already proven effective.
