With limited and only approved internet access in China it is true anyone who says anything negative about the CCP or Xi or even reports on stuff like Chinese made electric cars catching fire and burning down whole apartment complexes can result in people go to jail or disappearing.. Kinda like what a few other countries are trying to do now with social media...Wonder where they got the idea ?? It would appear with COVID and now the White Lung virus going around china the population may be much much lower than the CCP wants you to believe. I have seen several reports that the population is somewhere around 650 to 800 million but now there is this.

I knew it was bad but had no idea just how bad it really is in the Chinese military. Other Asian military's also have the pay your way into a promotion but not as bad as China IMO. One way company commanders make money is send a troop home for a year while the commander keeps his pay for the entire year. That has been around since Custer was a private. As far as I am concerned people in leadership roles should be held to the highest standards of proper military bearing or dismissed if not shot out right. 

Like the video says the leaders are afraid to give the troops live ammo as they believe they will be shot by their own troops.

It seems like we are incidentally collecting propaganda from several sources, some pro and some con...

There's a lot to be said for "controlling" information... the first tacit recognition of a problem is when anyone has to lie and apply theater to a report of ostensible facts.

I expect that there is a very low confidence for these reports... peppering fact with supposition based upon unattributed utterances and unverifiable narrative elements.

Propaganda is effective because of implicit trust, and some sense of betrayal slathered on the act of asking questions...

Note and remember "who produces" these reports, as well as when and how they are deployed.  Nations do not spend money to create propaganda without a set purpose and a way to assess it's effectiveness.   It's usually deployed with 'specific' intent... sometimes regional (akin to how Iranian press highlightedonly American failure during the conflict and every little tactical success is reported by American media as an affirmation of "business success" by some.)

Propaganda is always to 'change the perceived landscape' and like any lie... crafting it is an art form.

And the good stuff is not crafted in hostility and emotional glow.... it is a pawn piece in chess... it has limits and few surprises when you know it is propaganda.

But the idea is to make it 'blend in' with the "news cycle" and that's where "allied propagandists" have built a niche in the 'biz.'

I am surprised the Russians have not started doing the same thing to their troops as they tend to kill anyone who displeases their commander. 

So you are a soldier of the PLA in China and there is a self destruct charge attached to your worn combat gear. You can activate self destruction manually to prevent from being captured or your benevolent commander can command "self destruct" at a distance.. Well I would think that would cut down on the AWOL list !!
