Armed man detained at site of planned memorial service for Charlie Kirk

 
An armed man claiming to be affiliated with law enforcement was detained Friday after entering the Arizona stadium where conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s memorial service is set to take place Sunday, according to the Secret Service.
The man, who was not identified, entered State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and was observed “exhibiting suspicious behavior,” the Secret Service said in a statement late Friday. When Secret Service agents approached him, he claimed to be a member of law enforcement and said he was armed, the service said.

 
“The individual is not a member of authorized law enforcement working the event and is currently in custody,” the service said, adding that he had not been arrested as of late Friday night. “The U.S. Secret Service and local law enforcement are investigating the circumstances as to why he was at the location.”
The apparent unauthorized entry raised security concerns around the memorial, which is at capacity and is expected to include President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and many other administration officials and top aides.
The man had at least one gun and one knife when he was stopped, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the matter, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. He also presented “inactive law enforcement credentials” and told Secret Service agents he was at the site to provide private security, the official said.
A spokesperson for the Glendale Police Department referred questions to the Secret Service.
The Department of Homeland Security has made Kirk’s service a Special Event Assessment Rating (SEAR) Level 1 event — a designation that allows the federal government to assign it sweeping security resources, akin to a Super Bowl.
Secret Service teams have been on the ground for several days coordinating security with other federal, state and local law enforcement officials, and were expected to begin setting up a perimeter around the stadium Saturday, the law enforcement official said.
Kirk, who founded the conservative advocacy group Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on Sept. 10 while speaking at a college campus in Utah. Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested after a more than day-long search and charged with murder.

I saw a list of the speakers for the memorial ... I don't think it's smart to have a site with 70,000 people, and tens of thousands in the parking lot .... with the speakers being Trump, Vance, Rubio, Kennedy, Hegseth, Gabbard, etc all in one place and all easily over run.

We have to find our societal balance, and now we have hostile political parties and media, which adds to most people's anxiety levels. all in a population that has fewer and fewer coping skills than even the early 2000s, ie, the perfect storm.

Our ratio of nutters to normals in country has to be as high as it's been since the 70s

That’s exactly what they want and the reason for their threats and violence.
Trump was shot in the head and another lefty laid in wait and tried the same thing.
Trump continued his events throughout his campaign like it didn’t even happen.
Trump was at the yankee game last week.
Charlie had plenty of death threats for over a decade too.
This is the lead and example we need to follow.
