They were not terrible or hateful.
And even if they were, that's not an excuse to murder someone for expressing their views.
Of course it matters because if they are politically biased they will hear something other than what the speaker may actually be saying, you know this to be true.
Of course there is no excuse to murder someone as most sane people would agree and nobody here is saying it is, but you know full well it does not take much motivation for murder due to a number of factors.

I don't see how even the densest of people could take that wrong.
Maybe THEY should have been more aware of how things work. They are suffering the consequences of Their. Own. Actions.
People getting fired for saying vile things on the internet is nothing new. Looks like they thought they were immune.
They thought wrong.

Nor did I condone people on ATS laughing and joking when Paul Pelosi was almost killed when that maniac took a hammer to his head. I wonder if we could find that thread and see just how many people celebrated that attack.
The problem with the evil and vile social media responses, is that there's a very consistent theme amongst them and what they're saying.
So much so, that I question how organic these selfi-video-posts really are.
The community for people who look like men dressing up as women with multicolored hair, facial piercings and pronouns in their names must be a very small community. Most people don't want to be near or around that kind of mental instability and 'drama' so to speak. It's also embarrassing and draws attention when you're with them in public. So, it's a small niche group with the same cliques who rarely integrate with normal society.
Do they discuss how they can use social media to deliberately stoke hatred and scorn? Are they doing drag shows at schools, forcing unusual books on students by design? Is this whole episode in society some twisted plan?
I refuse to believe there's this many people with this exact same mental health issue at this exact time, globally!

I can find plenty of examples of the right cheering and mocking pelosi’s husband when he was attacked. Or examples of Donald Trump JR laughing at Pelosi when he was attacked with a hammer. There’s shitbags on both sides of the aisle.

From what I've seen there is no consistent theme, only people who say they were disgusted with what Kirk was saying which didn't align with their beliefs and what he wasn't saying that the alt-right wanted him to say.
The only consistent theme I see is the division and hate escalating into more and more violence and each side sending more and more death threats to political figures on both sides. And your President is stoking those flames.

Yeah. Funny how one side makes up a rule and then gets mad when those rules are used against them. What's good for the goose.....

Well there are free speech and labor laws that come into effect in this case so we shall see where that goes.

I actually don't think I've seen a single tweet from anyone saying anything remotely similar to that.
I've seen them ask that his wife be killed next, to orphan the kids so they can be ''educated'' properly.
I've seen women smiling, dancing and cheering a man they'd never met, being murdered, a man who likely would have greeted them with a smile and a ''good morning'' had they ever crossed paths.
I've seen praises and blessing being made for the bullet and the shooter and even some people giving the shooter a sainthood.
.. boy i could go on and on
Tell you what I havent seen, this level of pain before - or atleast not in the last 30 or so years since Princess Di died. Every man or woman who has kids and never gave a damn about politics, every man of faith, every young conservative... felt this one. This family was the a-typical nuclear family that made America. Religous, righteous, honest, hardworking and happy!
