Sadly, a LOT of children here in the southwest don't know how to swim.

And people really are unaware of flash floods and how dangerous they are.

BREAKING: Reports of additional an additional wall of water heading STRAIGHT towards Kerrville “If you’re in a low lying area, move out of that low lying area NOW,” Texas Emergency Management Chief says HEED THESE WARNINGS! Rain is continuing to pound the area, and helicopters are up in the air locating this wall.

While the phrase "wall of water" made me very suspicious (floods don't look like that), there's more flooding in the area and the death toll stands at 80.

Don't know how valid this is... it could just be media drama....

DHS says mainstream media is 'deliberately lying' about events leading up to Texas flooding

Why would anyone... in the 21st century seek to exploit human suffering "for political effect?"

Oh... that's right...  we're just numbers...

Sadly, it doesn't matter if they know how to swim. You can't swim in a flash flood. All you can do is try to keep your feet up and pointed down stream. If you survive, it is luck and not ability to swim.

Anything you hit in the water is likely to trap you under water from the flow. Anything you can grab onto, like a power pole, tree or even a house, is likely to get something heavy in the water smashed into it. You don't want to be between an unmoving object and a moving one when they meet.

Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

What part of a flash flood, wall of water, is suspicious exactly? Many examples on YouTube.

Those are very small compared to the one in Texas. I tried to find examples that were not of this flood for comparison.

Links to YouTube shorts don't seem to be working at the moment

FWIW, I don't think we need any more politics in this thread.

But a simple search.

Quote:President Donald Trump will visit Central Texas on Friday following the devastating flooding from the Independence Day weekend, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Monday to NBC Reporter Ryan Chandler.
On Sunday, Trump approved a disaster declaration from Texas Governor Greg Abbott related to severe storms and flooding, according to a Sunday press release from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

You want the helicopters grounded while there is still a very slight chance to save someone? That is what a presidential visit does.

Friday is much less likely to cause any possible deaths from a visit. That will also give them time to plan the visit rather than just stop everything for photo shoots.

Also, he is using his pen and phone to help out all he can in the mean time.

I'm curious as to what you expected him to do ? Stop the rain ?

Maybe stand in front of the waters with his arms out like Moses parting the Red Sea and stop the flood ?

  • Snow and Ice:

A Met Office warning for snow and ice impacted Scotland, Northern Ireland, and parts of England and Wales in January 2025, causing school closures and travel disruptions.
  • Climate Change Impacts:
    .
The UK has experienced a rise in extreme weather events, including heatwaves and wildfires, linked to climate change. In July 2021, London experienced flash floods after a month's worth of rain fell in two hours, highlighting the impact of climate change on the city, according to the BBC
  • Other Notable Events:
    .
The UK has also experienced the effects of storms like Storm Bert in late November 2024, which brought widespread flooding, reports the BBC Teach. The 2022 European and Mediterranean wildfires also affected the UK, with wildfires like the one in Wennington causing significant damage.

Where was your PM during all that ? Why didn't he stop it ?
