Well, criminal negligence needs to be proven and if anyone knows this it would be a former attorney. Tensions are high and guessing what firefighting techniques should have been deployed when those that know what they are doing are doing their best according to their training, doesn't help the situation in any way, shape or form.

My guess is that he's still an attorney, and he probably knows about courts, and proving, and stuff like that.

Saying the helicopter took 45 minutes to arrive after his wife called 911 helps us all understand the circumstances, right?

Tensions are running high, people are looking for others to blame, that's human nature under extreme stress.

But accusing someone of criminal negligence without proof, to me, and that may be likely to ruin their reputation is considered libel, which any attorney should know.

Why the helicopter took that long should be explained by those that are fighting the fire, right?

With police forces overwhelmed by the enormous scope of devastation in Los Angeles County, residents are starting to take matters into their own hands, defying mandatory evacuation orders to instead guard their homes and their neighbor's property with firearms.  
 
As we reported yesterday, losses from the wildfires in Los Angeles county are poised to reach $250 billion or more. Property isn't only being destroyed -- it's also being stolen by brazen looters. The neighbor of one LA county resident gave a disturbing description of what was going on on their street: "There were like a hundred people that came up on scooters and were trying to get into any and all houses on this street."

State Farm has pulled its commercial from next month's Super Bowl broadcast after receiving fierce criticism following the outbreak of the Los Angeles wildfires.
 
The major American insurance company has sparked fury amongst California homeowners this month amid the fires, which have destroyed thousands of homes and killed an estimated 25 people.
 
Just months before the devastating inferno broke out, State Farm made the controversial decision to revoke fire coverage for tens of thousands of residents in the state, leaving many in a state of crisis after their properties were turned to rubble.
 
A number of Hollywood stars have publicly hit out at the insurer over the cancellations, including comedic actor Rob Schneider, who furiously branded them a 'pile of crap'.

There are and were a lot of failures about these fires. Heads should roll.

Saw an interesting interview today with a well known real estate broker. He stated he's had a ton of calls from people who want to sell their land. They state who knows how long it would take to rebuild,or if their house did not burn, do they want to be the only house on the block for years while construction is going on? Many also were underinsured, and others just want out of the area and may have experienced this before and have had enough. A lot of people are looking to move to Orange County or out of state.

Many of the burned homes belong to upper middle class professionals that may not have had full insurance, and these people might struggle to rebuild. There is a segment though, that is obscenely wealthy, and might buy up 50 ordinary lots and could rebuild $100 million dollar mansions. They have more money that they could spend in their lifetime.
