The California state homeowners insurance of last resort,  FAIR, is seriously underfunded. It holds about $200 million in funds, while the claims could reach $24 billion.

Most Californians didn't realize that the FAIR guidelines allow for every insured homeowner in the state to be billed for the losses. It seems that every insured homeowner will be charged an extra $1000 to pay for Los Angeles fire losses.

People may not have to sell their properties if they use fireproof building techniques, and I would expect insurance companies would feel better at providing insurance policies.



Also, why can't those homes along the ocean shore have sea water pumping systems to spray their homes continuously during a wildfire storm?

This is what is going to happen, most of the rich and famous that lost home, have other homes somewhere else, plus they can rebuild, the problem is the area, no electricity, no water no infrastructure.

The regular middle working class do not have 10 years + to wait to rebuild, they will most likely will sell the land and relocate with the money somewhere else.

Who will buy this land? probably it will start with the government, when the government have enough land under control, the land will be rezoned and sold to as prime real state to developers, Newsome always wanted the area to be a new utopia of condos and apartments, that is what is going to happen, more people like a can of sadines in a small area for more tax income.
