Burning the USA Flag

Outlawing 'burning the American flag' isn't a new idea.
HILLARY CLINTON, of all people, tried to do it.

The "idiot" in question defended your nation for 20 years.

I was in the US Army for five years.
I saw plenty of idiots in the army as well as smart people.
His service is appreciated.
His burning of the US Flag is not.
It's idiotic.

Some may argue he's earned the right to protest in whatever peaceful manner he sees fit. 

Sure he can protest.  It should be his right.
But what he is doing in the protest is idiotic.
Burning the flag is spitting on the country that gives you the right to protest.
(which is not allowed in most countries in the world)

I dont really hold with burning flags myself, but again, freedom of expression is rather an important thing to lose.

Like I said ... the flag burners can express themselves and burn the flag ... but they are idiots.  They call for the destruction of the country that they freely live in and are protected in.   Self destructive morons.  If they are so unhappy that they want to destroy the country (and that's what burning the flag means ... they want to tear it all down and burn it up), then they should just leave.   It would make themselves and everyone else happier.

As to them being unhappy, well, they have good reason to be unhappy.

And if protesting by burning a flag is how they choose to vent their anger, regret, and discontentment, then so be it.
