Been hearing this bankrupt bit for quite a while yet I haven't actually seen it happen...somehpw those lines are moving towards the Deniper every day. The missiles and drones keep coming every night too...

In fact if anyone is bankrupt its Ukraine as the west is basically paying to prop up their country almost completely if not 100%...and they still steal from us! Not sure how anyone can support that without some real think rose colored glasses...

Let me leave some realistic analysis of the current situation in Ukraine...aomething more based in reality from someone who would rather see Ukraine win but is at least honest and presents facts not propaganda....although I know this won't interest most of you nor will you probably watch it.

Edit to add: I guess, at least on mobile, the copy past function is broken...I am on android and just noticed I can only select all/translate/read aloud...no copy or paste or cut. I had to type out that url for the vid...

Quote:Russian economic meltdown as 7,000 companies face bankruptcy.. Russia's economic crisis is intensifying with thousands of companies reportedly facing bankruptcy. Businesses have been hit by a double whammy of sanctions and high interest rates, since the outbreak of the full-scale war in February 2022.
The key interest rate rose to a staggering 21% last autumn, the highest it had been since the early 2000s. The Central Bank was forced to hike the rate due to spiralling inflation, but has since cut it back down to 16.5%. Nevertheless, Russian businesses are struggling to make ends meet, and are fighting for their existence

Quote:Russia’s Central Bank Starts Selling Physical Gold From ReservesRussia’s Central Bank has for the first time begun selling physical gold from its reserves as part of Finance Ministry operations to fund the state budget, the Bank said on Wednesday.
The move mirrors previous transactions involving gold from the National Wealth Fund (NWF), which until now were largely virtual. In those operations, the government sold gold to the Central Bank, keeping bullion in the country’s reserves.
Russia’s gold holdings exceed 2,300 tons, the fifth-largest reserves in the world.
“With domestic gold market liquidity having increased in recent years, the Bank of Russia now conducts equivalent operations on the domestic market not only through yuan transactions but also partially through gold,” a Central Bank spokesperson told Interfax.
The Bank did not disclose the timing or size of the sales.

The NWF held 405.7 tons of gold before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Finance Ministry has since sold 57%, or 232.6 tons, to cover budget shortfalls, leaving 173.1 tons as of Nov. 1.

No matter how the Russian propaganda machine plays it, things aren't looking to good for the Russia economy.

I did find this little piece of news interesting, a while back in July 2024 their ATMs fell over after a Ukrainian cyber attack causing panic.

Quote:Russia’s Central Bank is preparing to have some of its employees undergo firearms training, public procurement records appear to show, coming after previous failed attempts to allow senior officials to carry pistols and submachine guns.
A tender posted on Tuesday shows the bank contracting for shooting lessons with automatic weapons at licensed ranges in or near Moscow. The contractor must provide the facilities, weapons, ammunition and certified instructors, and it is required to destroy all information related to the contract once it is completed.

Russia’s Central Bank has sought to beef up its security since last year, when it requested permission for deputy governors and senior officials to carry firearms, including Makarov pistols and submachine guns.
A bank spokesperson said at the time that the proposed measures were to ensure the safety of bank staff and assets in occupied Ukraine.
The government ultimately limited the right to carry weapons to existing security personnel.

There's also the cell phone and internet outages...

Quote:Russia's government is tightening its internet control, with widespread outages and restrictions already defining 2025 for its citizens. These pervasive measures are impacting daily life, from public transport to critical health monitoring.
The impact is profound: credit cards fail for public transport, ATMs disconnect, and messaging apps are down. Mobile phones often lose texts and data after international travel, and mothers of diabetic children report being unable to monitor blood glucose levels during outages.
For months, mobile phone internet shutdowns have affected dozens of Russian regions, ostensibly thwarting Ukrainian drone attacks. Popular messaging apps are also restricted, with the government promoting a state-controlled alternative critics fear is a surveillance tool.
Although broadband and Wi-Fi internet access remain unaffected, Russians contacted by The Associated Press described digital disruptions to their daily lives. All spoke anonymously for safety.

Widespread cellphone internet shutdowns began in May and persisted through summer and into the fall. In November, 57 Russian regions on average reported daily disruptions to cellphone links, according to Na Svyazi, an activist group monitoring shutdowns.
Authorities say these outages are designed to prevent Ukrainian drones from tapping mobile networks for navigation.

I read in the news that Putin will raise the taxes on their already impoverished citizens. Where is the Russian oligarch's money? Have the oligarchs had enough of spending on a never-ending war? Wasn't this war suppose to last two weeks originally?

Zelensky just began targeting their electrical and oil industry and transport infrastructures, so all of this together is going to hurt Putin.

It looks like this peace deal benefits only Russia and the USA mostly.

--------

"He also knows that, along with the flattery, Trump wants to see a profit.

The Ukraine offer is for Putin to be given the pre-prepared defensive lines that Ukraine has built in its fortress belt in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson provinces without a shot being fired.

In return, Ukraine will give up its long-range weapons, halve its armed forces, forever forsake joining Nato, and sign up to Belarus-style vassal status under the Kremlin.

And the new bit of this old Russian set of demands is that American companies get 50 per cent of the profits from a $100bn reconstruction fund for Ukraine, using frozen Kremlin assets.

That’s on top of the extortionate minerals deal that Zelensky signed with the Trump administration, which promises American control of 50 per cent of the profits from Ukraine’s as-yet-untapped mineral resources."

Will Ukraine accept Trump’s peace deal? Europe and Kyiv are left with only one real response to his ultimatum | The Independent

---------

Let's wait to hear what the Ukrainian people have to say about that 'big pieces of the pie for Russia and USA' plan.

I'm sure all the Kremlin and Putin supporters on here will make this 'peace deal' look like a win, but in reality this is a loss for all except for Putin.
I find it sad that Trump is trying to force a nearly 5 year old Kremlin demand on Ukraine and not look like a Putin puppet to the rest of the world.

It may be that the Ukrainian people will want this deal even if it benefits them the least, they may be war weary.

"Finally, Ukraine must hold elections within 100 days (nothing about how security might be kept at polling stations in areas still under dispute), all combatants and politicians are granted amnesty (so much for war-crimes trials), and Russia “will be reintegrated into the global community,” complete with restored membership in the G8 and the dropping of sanctions.
A few other articles seem to favor Ukraine at first glance, but not so much upon scrutiny. For instance, “Russia is expected not to invade neighboring countries” (italics added), which sounds like a courteous request, not a legal demand. (By contrast, the same plank—in fact, the same sentence—states, “NATO will not expand further.”)

Another: “Ukraine will receive reliable security guarantees,” but there isn’t a hint on what Moscow would find acceptable in this department. Similarly, “Russia will codify a non-aggression policy toward Europe and Ukraine,” thus allowing Putin to load the codification with whatever loose language and loopholes he’d like."

What the people behind Trump’s 28-point Ukraine peace plan fail to understand about the war.

The plan is extremely vague in wording for Ukraine security and guarantees, IMO.

More of my thoughts on whether of not the Ukrainian people may be war weary.

From my limited research on the peace plan news, I've encountered other information as to what Ukraine is doing to circumvent Russia's attack on their infrastructure. I've seen common Ukrainians using solar powered generators in their homes, I see the government building decentralized power grids, and planning for switching to electrical trains, drone warfare (first person drone goggles) advancement and manufacturing, desensitization of killing, etc.

In the video I posted below starting at mark 22:00, they are using psychologist-based specialized AI for direct evidence-based mental health support and referral for all people needing support in a war zone.

It is also described as a personalized, anonymous pocket companion that people can turn to for mental health or referral or triage to higher level of care support.

So I'm rethinking whether or not Ukrainians and Ukrainian military/politicians are war weary.

Its not even close to a win...thats what happens when you lose a war. You don't really get to demand much because the winning side will just ignore it and keep on beating you. Trump just wants peace and the only way it's going to happen is on terms Russia will agree with. They're trying hard to slip in some stuff favorable to Ukraine but realistically its unlikely Russia will go for it. They've said for a while now what they want and I have seen no signs that they intend to budge. Welcome to reality...looks different without the rose colored glasses on!

But wait, there's more...
Quote:President Donald Trump on Saturday said that his administration’s peace proposal for Ukraine and Russia is “not my final offer,” telling reporters after a question from NBC News, “One way or the other, we have to get it ended.”
Trump added that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy doesn’t agree to the peace plan, “then he can continue to fight his little heart out.”
Earlier this week, Trump said that he wants Zelenskyy — who has hesitations about the proposal — to accept the peace plan by Thanksgiving.

Less than a week and Trump has a new deal for Ukraine.
