Panic Buying hits DC - Shelves Bare

Quote:Millions of Americans are bracing for a catastrophic ice storm that forecasters warn could be so dangerous that you may not be safe even when inside your home.   About 230 million people across 34 states are under a variety of watches, warnings and other alerts ahead of the historic storm, named Fern, that could crush trees and power lines and knock out power for days.  Panic buying has left store shelves completely empty in Washington DC as people prepare to spend the weekend buckled down inside their homes, NBC News' Gary Grumbach revealed.

Flight Carnage - 50 Airports have Mass Cancellations ahead of Snowmeggeden

Quote:Travelers across the US have been put on high alert as major airlines issued warnings and announced possible flight cancellations ahead of Winter Storm Fern.  Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, JetBlue and Southwest Airlines, four of the nation's largest carriers, all warned passengers to expect major disruptions as the storm moves from the central US into the Northeast. The storm, expected to begin Friday and last through Monday, is forecast to drop a foot or more of snow and catastrophic amounts of ice along its 1,500-mile path from Texas to the Northeast.

My wife went to Wal Mart on her way home this morning and she said bread, eggs and milk are completely gone. No pizzas and many other frozen foods are empty.  Most canned soups were gone, lunch meats...just all the quick and easy stuff.

lol My buddy from down the road called. He said that other than the funky IPAs, Wal Mart is pretty much out of beer. He said the beer isle is almost completely empty and there were about 6 - 30 packs of Bush Lite, about the same Miller Lite and some Bud and Bud Lite, along with some other brands, but not much.

There is an entire isle of beer here locally and for most of it to be gone is crazy. I have never seen it even CLOSE to empty, even during Covid.

Guess nobody wants to be cold AND sober.

I am just glad it's finally Winter.
Here was way too warm.  Like late Autumn /middle Spring warm.
The La Nina (sp) screwed up the Jet Stream now it's too far north.
