Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ? Have you been cleansed by His blood?
nvm, sorry

But I'd really like to know what you wrote! LOL

I always found the cannibalism aspect of Christianity mystifying.  Flesh and blood etc.  I don't know.  I guess there would have to be reasons for it in Satanism as well, which may have had a similar point of origin.  I am not really steeped in the esoteric or religious texts...

It is a symbolic ritual to remind us that we are flesh and blood. We don't need God, Jesus and all that stuff. Flesh and blood is what we are.

Christians reverse the teachings and project the meaning outward onto something outside of themselves. It's all rather sad really with no real opportunity for growth or wisdom.

Perhaps there is a trinity to our creation in regards to the transmutation of energies. Corporeal, spirit, then divine (in God's image) (?)

But those communion wafers look so tasty!

They have no taste, at least, that is how I remember them to be. Who knows, maybe they've added sugar and flavoring these days.

Nope.

Catholic and Orthodox - which is half of Christianity - do not believe that Holy Communion is a 'symbolic ritual'.   They believe that the host and wine change into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ Himself.  (TRANSUBSTANTIATION) Those are the only Christian churches that have apostolic succession and that follow Jesus command in John 6 about His flesh being real food ... and His command at the last supper to 'do this in memory of Him'.

Protestants have bread and wine and a symbol.  Catholics and Orthodox have Christ Himself on the altar.

Protestants can change the communion wafer to whatever they want.  It's just symbol for them.

Catholics and Orthodox have to use an exact formula and it has to be 'unleaven' (flat).  It has to have at least a certain amount of gluten to make it real bread.    Yes they are tasteless.

See, I didn't know that. Maybe they can also look to buying better tasting wine just to make the experience somewhat memorable. I'm guessing they used a tasteless Merlot, when I'd pick up my Italian girlfriend at her house in the morning to walk to school, where her mother would give me a shot of homemade Italian wine, so my palate was somewhat wine advanced.

Protestants can use whatever wine and grape juice that they want.   Their communion is just a symbol.

Catholics and Orthodox have restrictions.  It has to be pure 'of the vine' to follow what scripture says.

From AI Assist - the Catholic wine requirements - In the Catholic Church, altar wine for sacramental use must be natural, made from grapes, and not corrupt. It should be pure grape wine, alcoholic, and typically falls within the range of 5% to 18% alcohol by volume (ABV). While generally avoiding additives, some wine-derived additives are permitted if they are distilled from grapes and added during fermentation, keeping the final ABV under 18%. Sulfites, a common preservative, are generally accepted.

Catholicism is an exact science.  Everything, and I do mean just about everything, has to follow requirements from Rome.  And those requirements are there for theological and/or scriptural reasons.  In this case, it's scriptural reason.
