(don't want to turn it into a Trump thread though)
Trump faces backlash because Andrew arrested and no arrests/investigations in the USA.
Trump faces furious Epstein Backlash as Andrew Detained and USA has Zero Arrests
Gotta' have an investigation before arrests can be made.
Not even a real investigation in the USA.
Still arguing over files being released.
The UK is up one on the USA on this topic for sure.
Gotta have evidence before arrests can be made over here.
Well, that is if they wish charges to stick...
As to being up one, let's just see where the charges lead.
Just, it would be a shame to start counting chickens if you know what i mean.

Scapegoat?
Fella is buried up to his @rse, probably the same with a few extended family members if we are honest.

If it was stored on the handset then it's on that handset. If they saved it in their cloud storage then it available there, which then becomes a slippery slope between privacy and a companies responsibility to not allow that type of content on their infrastructure. Some handsets have the ability to take micro sd cards so if it is stored there then they would just move the chip to the new handset.

I’m not familiar with British law but does he have the right to have an attorney present during any questioning?

Given all the searches going on he may bee released on Police bail pending further investigations, or if Epstein emails are deemed sufficient evidence he may be charged.
But who knows at this stage?
Must be squeaky bum time though.
Hope the bent b@stard is sweating.
If he is done, it will be The Crown (Charles) Vs Mr A M-W .
Which would be extraordinary.

According to reports from PBS, NY Post, and others, Prince Andrew allegedly shared confidential trade reports and his itinerary from a 2010 Southeast Asia tour (including Hanoi, Singapore, and Hong Kong) with Jeffrey Epstein via emails. This is tied to his role as UK trade envoy and suspected violations of the Official Secrets Act. Investigation is ongoing.

He wasn't arrested under the Official Secrets Act, but for misconduct in public office, IE his role as Trade Envoy.

The legal system does change from country to country... but most often, the principles and pivotal understandings that form the basis of the system are very much (and often strikingly) similar...
In the case of the Royal courts and the American legal system... we are brethren... we "can" speak the same language because we came to the same understandings, at the same times and places in history;... it makes us very much the same overall.
I was surprised for the "need" to arrest and detain...
He is no flight risk, nor is he ever - in many senses - 'free to travel.'
I think the arrest is a public/interfacing thing...
If and how your King broaches or deflects this will be one for the history books.
There is filial loyalty, royal duty, and personal dignity at stake here...
all inflamed by "how one treats slaves" but I don't think anyone will allow that question to germinate.

To arrest him they need a reasonable belief that an offence had been committed (IE the Epstein emails) but this allowed them to carry out searches.
