9th or Dwarf Planet Found ?
#1
I cant believe this isnt getting more exposure. Astronomers believe they have found a 'Dwarf' planet out past Neptune.
Named 2017 OF201, some 430 miles in diameter and has an extreme orbit of 25000 years.
Apparently it was found after they restudied old data.

I find this absolutely facinating and question is does this bring more credance to the supposed existance of a huge Planet X ?
I am sure there are members here who are much more knowledgeable about such things than me but I did not find a thread on this so I thought I would start one.

Pluto is about 1,473 miles in diameter and sadly is not rated as a planet anymore.

So this is pretty small.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

Even if 2017 OF201 does not turn out to be planet 9(possibly more like a dwarf planet ). Its discovery expands our knowledge of the solar systems outer reaches.

And also prompts a reevaluation of existing theories about planetary formation beyond Neptune.
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

25000 miles is a teeny weeny orbit not an "extreme" one.

Neptune orbits at around 2.8 Billion miles and it's beyond that.

The body/planet you are talking about has an orbit around the sun of around 25,000 years which must have been the thing that confused your estimate.

The "25,000" doesn't refer to the length of the orbit, but the number of years in which it would take to complete one orbit around the sun.  "The object, dubbed 2017 OF201, follows an extreme, oblong orbit, taking some 25,000 Earth years to circle the sun. "

This is fascinating to me for a number of reasons, however it is very close, if not exact, to the orbit of Nibiru, (or Planet X, as Sitchin referred to) as translated by Z. Sitchin of the ancient Summerian and Akkadian clay tablets.   Those translation, by the way, have been confirmed by various scholars, such as Prof. Miguel Civil, and John Rylands and Prof. Hogg of Victoria University, just to name a few.

At ATS I once had a signature that read, "I don't believe in Nibiru, but I love to track its progress."   Now, years later, after much more research, I'm not so cocksure as I was back then.

Interesting, but not major headline worthy.  That would make the tenth (according to Wikipedia) dwarf planet found in orbits beyond Pluto: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwarf_planet
