Where did that US News report come from?
EXPLAINER: How Rare Was the Earthquake That Rattled the Northeast? | National News | U.S. News (usnews.com)
Quote: A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck the Northeast on Friday, rattling the East Coast from Maine down to Virginia.

the only spot where it states anything close to 5.5 is this:
Quote: The worst earthquake on record to hit New York City struck in 1884, according to the city. It had an estimated magnitude of 5.4 and is thought to have originated somewhere between Brooklyn and Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The city was also damaged by an earthquake in 1737.

This story from today also doesn't have that quote you show:
Magnitude 4.8 Earthquake Hits New York City Region (usnews.com)

So where did the 5.5 come about in the Earthquake story? Just to be clear, I'm not accusing you of posting misinformation, but instead somebody has, and we should expose that person that is trying to push a narrative.
