Is AI the Image Given Life in The Book of Revelation?

This thought had come to mind. It isn't an exact fit, but it seems pretty close.

So, AI has no "image" as yet, but it does "speak". I can believe that AI can get to the point of being worshiped by people, so a graven image isn't out of the question soon.

Once the AI has been developed to a higher degree and has provided many services and advantages, it may be monitoring everyone to determine who is worthy and who needs to be eliminated. It might also control your participation in the economy using a social score type of system.

It seems to be a possibility. I'd have to look closer at the translations from Greek to English and other interpretations by scholars.

Also, it's a program.  It just repeats what it knows.  Teach it to troll, and it will troll anyone who uses it.  Teach it to preach Buddhism, and it will bring the word of Buddha to everyone.  Teach it to sing and every answer will be a song.

Every program has a "god mode", which means the programmer can override anything and force it to stop.  The human can shut down routers, transmitters, whole backbones of the Internet, remove power sources, or simply destroy the computer.

It's no more good or alive or evil than an old pocket calculator.  And if it ever became "alive", somewhere there would be a Master Control to stop it.

More properly translated as "give breath" or "give a spirit" in this verse. Reminiscent of the old pagan temple trick of using automata or mechanical trickery to make statues move or appear to talk. And in line with the themes of deception and counterfeit described in Revelation. So your analogy may not be too far off the mark.

I just signed up to train AI. I have to get through some more test assignments to see if they think I qualify. It is a lot like the research I do for the forums, and if they are legit (they checked out) it means $20/hour for sitting at my computer like I am right now.

Even if they don't actually hire me, it seems pretty interesting and worth the experience. I may gain some interesting insights.

All an AI has to do to control anyone is only provide the news it wants them to know.

Funny how all the smart devices make that so easy. Like they planned it all along.

Individualized news is breaking up society into little groups.

Since last year I’ve been watching rapture movies quite a bit.  There’s some that go back to the seventies and good or not so good quality, they all have been interesting.

I think AI would most definitely be used during the tribulation period after the rapture.  

Most deniers will claim that the concept of the rapture didn’t come about until the 1800’s.  WRONG!

it goes back as far as Isaiah and Daniel and definitely in Thessalonians and Matthew.  Revelation doesn’t mention the church after about chapter 7.
