Strange accounts taken from 'Stigmata' newsletter No.6, 1979 (Project Stigma, Paris, Texas).
• South Carolina farmer and three other witnesses see circle of light (and four smaller lights) in the air near his hog pen - 48 hours later two hogs dead, one with its jawbone removed.
Quote:Around 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 6th, 1978 farmer Richard Fanning, accompanied by his wife and another couple, drove out to feed Fanning’s several hundred hogs. As they approached the bog pen, all four saw a circle of light along with four smaller lights (two red, two green) hovering over nearby treetops. The four were frightened by the noiseless apparitions and decided that the hogs could be fed later. As the witnesses drove from the scene, they were followed by the large white light and the red and green lights for about 300 yards. Suddenly ail five lights returned to hover over the area of the hog pen. After three or four minutes, all of the lights went out.
Fanning did not return to feed the hogs until Friday morning, December 8th. Be found one hog ‘standing up dead. I kicked him and he fell over’. Fanning told reporter Roberta G. Boman of the Times and Democrat (Orangeburg, SC) that a second dead hog lay nearby with its jawbone removed. He told Boman that ‘the body was sort of like sponge, with all the weight gone, kind of like jelly (Fanning said the hog, normally weighing 200 lbs., weighed no more than approximately 50 pounds). In my opinion, no animal got that hog.’
Fanning went on to exclaim that ‘I was scared, and I'm not scared of many things. I go hunting and fishing a lot. Never seen anything like it. It’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m an outdoorsman, and I wouldn’t have said nothing unless the other three people saw it too.’
• Bizarre horse case from Snohomish county - colt missing blood, no footprints, looked like 'dropped from above' and other animals refuse to go near carcass.
Quote:A vet, Dr. John Carr, was called to the scene and he declared that the colt died from loss of blood via some unknown procedure. There was no blood on the ground and only a small amount in the heart and chest cavity. There were no tracks or signs in the 3-inch grass in the area. It looked ‘as though the colt had been dropped out of the air’. In the same field, 30 to 40 feet of electric fence was down, with two fence posts snapped off at the base. There were no tracks around the fence. Henning left the carcass in the field so he could keep an eye on it. Then, (quoting from Phillips’ report): On the second day a cobweb-like material developed over the open wound. Later the second day a large German shepherd dog was observed coming into the field. When he spotted the dead animal he stopped, smelled the air, made a circle around it and continued on its way. The third day, a coyote which had been seen in the area several times in previous months, came into the field, circled the animal several times, then began eating on the head and neck. He would not go near the rear of the horse. Mr. Henning went out to have a look and found plenty of evidence on the ground and in the grass to show where the coyote had dug his paws in when pulling at the neck hide.....Mr. Henning brought the mare and her other colt out and tried to get them near the dead colt. Neither one would come within 50 feet of it. He tried laying hay next to it and they still would not approach it. Mr. Henning has two labrador dogs…..he turned them loose to see what they would do. They circled the animal, but would not get within 20 feet of it.

Pretty rare old clip of a young Linda Howe describing some truly bizarre cattle mutes being discovered in the same area of high UFO activity.
She also describes how patterns in mutes manifest on a global scale; how the muscle tissue is so thoroughly drained of blood that it appears a 'pale pink white' and how microscopic analysis shows clear evidence of high heat on the edge of cuts (estimated 350 degrees or above).
• Some graphic description so listener discretion.

Whatever is causing the 'mute' phenomenon it's still going on and below is a report from this month in Argentina.
Quote:An Argentine rancher was left scratching his head after one of his cows was mysteriously slain in a manner that bore the hallmarks of the infamous cattle mutilation phenomenon. According to a local media report, the downed animal was found on Monday morning in the community of Santillan. Nelson Billordo recalled how he was alerted to the strange situation by a farmhand who stumbled upon the dead cow and marveled to him that it appeared as if something had tried "to rip its face off." When the rancher went out to investigate, he was shaken and mystified by what he saw.
In a manner eerily reminiscent of the cattle mutilation phenomenon, the animal had its tongue and eyes removed with surgical precision. The cuts, Billordo observed, were "cauterized and it wasn't bleeding anywhere." Meanwhile, the remains of the cow attracted no scavengers, which seemed to steer clear of the creature. Indicating that "this is the first time I've seen such a thing," the rancher noted that his property is fairly isolated which would seem to preclude the human suspect for the slaying. To that end, regarding the strangeness of the slaying, he posited that "a normal person wouldn't do this."
As for what could have caused the curious case, while the rancher did not outright point the finger at aliens, he also did not discount the possibility. "It's either believe it or burst," Billordo mused, "one always hears that we are not alone on Earth, and there is talk of UFO cases, this is not something normal." Unfortunately for the rancher, much like many of his counterparts who have had their animals fall victim to the unnerving phenomenon, it is unlikely that he will ever find out what killed his cow, leaving him to simply hope that whatever was behind the slaying is now satiated and will not come back for more.

"other animals refuse to go near carcass"... A kneejerk reaction here would be, well naturally. I always make a point of showing my pets to the heavens and giving loving attention hoping they get the message.

Well said mate and always worthwhile to note animal reactions when it comes to freaky unexplained subjects (plus pets are awesome).
Am sure this 'mute' phenomenon is one most folks would prefer to ignore but considering the name of this website then have to say the numbers of animals that fall victim to it (and the number of countries it occurs in) is mindboggling.
The 'human error' aspect should always be a factor in organised, repeated behaviour so have always been amazed that absolutely no-one has ever been caught red handed doing it - there's never been a single prosecution for criminal damage or animal cruelty either.
Can't believe someone would make a 'top ten' video about the subject but if it gets the younger generation interested in reality (and popped out of their safe space bubbles) then fair enough.
Obviously graphic images but Snippy the horse gets a mention - as does Montana, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Argentina, the United Kingdom and the San Luis Valley.
Cheers.

Don't know if anyone's been around a fully grown bull but they're incredibly powerful (and unpredictable) animals so this case from Indiana is a bit of a head-scratcher.
