California really does have a strong economy. The combination of coastal tech and Pacific trade with inland agriculture is formidable. The giant Sequoias are beautiful.

I don't have a problem doing something I am told to do, as long as it is not harmful

You said "say something nice"

Something nice.

There I said it.

Blue hair can actually look kinda awesome, if worn with a decent attitude.

We had parrots in the back yard early this morning.   There is a reason they are called a "pandemonium" of parrots.   Two of them can sound like four, and four of them can sound like a dozen.   We had about a dozen of them, and it sounded like three times that.   It was a cacophony of parrots.  Absolutely wonderful.   What a great way to start the day.  About 20 minutes later, they all lifted up at once as a noisy bunch and passed over our house.   These are the things that make life wonderful.   Later on, at sundown, there was a brief green flash.   I didn't have my camera out, because I didn't think it would happen, but we saw it.   This was a good day.

I love this thread.   I will contribute to it often.   I have always wished for a "good news" website.   There is too much horror, strife and angst.

ETA:  I would give this thread an applause if I could.

To all the people with who I often dont agree; thanks for your effort and time making threads and replying with sincerity. I appreciate you for it and even though we might not agree and discussions can get heated I hope you realise its not personal for me. Have a nice day.

Here's something.
I don't know if you'd call it nice.

What's important is not who loves you, it's who YOU love.

It's overpriced, but Avocado Toast is yummy.

Good job Millennials.

I appreciate the fact that I live in a country where although I may not agree with what you are saying, or your beliefs, I can still fight for your right to say them and believe them. At least for now.

I am adding on to this to humble myself a bit. I was watching the wild protests in California and sat there and thought how different these protests were to the ones a few years ago when George Floyd was killed. Yes there are people that are far reachers and claimed to have been hurt by ICE, only to be given gofundme account of more then $8000, and yes we have people causing disruption, BUT ...... I appreciate that there was no looting this time. Protestors kept to not destroying innocent people's businesses that sustain the community and the lives of the business owners.
