RIP Eric Von Daniken

Like him or hate him he changed the thinking world in many different was. "Chariots' of the Gods" was a page turner for those who started reading his book way back when.

Google says; " Erich von Däniken, the Swiss author known for his controversial theories about ancient astronauts, passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 90. His death was confirmed by his daughter and reported widely in the media."

I think his most interesting take on South American topography was that series of mountains that were shaved flat with no sign of where the material went. I think there were lines created on those flat tops. Supposed 'runways'.

The man helped broaden my view of things. Cheers Erich, God Speed. RIP

He was a bit of a 'flim flam man' but was great for me as a young teen. His 'Chariot of the Gods' sparked many a young imagination.

He reached a ripe old age though!

RIP Eric and thank you!

He opened a line of thought that blossomed into the world we live in today. We still do not have answers to even his most basic suggestions.

God speed to a true open thinker.

I read Chariots of the Gods as a youngster and it fired my imagination.

I was convinced at the time, but then I was gullible...RIP, Though.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

Even though he was like many writers who twisted history and archaeology to fit his theories, he did start many people on a search for the facts behind mankind's past.

May He Rest in Peace.

I disagree with a lot of his speculation , but it was his willingness to foster and publish such speculation that is admirable.
He was a landmark author in the alternative research and New Age community.
RIP Erich

That was simply a lie, like most of the other bullshit he claimed.
