How and when did you first stumble across the lamented ATS?
#21
I had a sense of humor back then and would laugh a lot  on the boards :)

Does anyone else remember Bernard Schultz ?

Not sure if that was his real name or his handle.

His threads always involved the new handle he had created after being banned,as  being some kind of expert or Dr or some such
nonsense , it was amusing , ah memories

YES!!!

That was a strange new thing for me... I tried to follow the story, but got confused when he kind of switched 'expertise' as the narrative grew...  It was too much for my fragile mind.

For myself it was in 2008 in a cyber café (remember those?) I didn't get an Internet connection in my residence until 2014. Before this I was living with an elderly female relative and had no personal computer. I had to rely on accessing the Internet from public libraries and cyber cafés. I was searching for information about UFOs when I was directed to ATS. I was immediately struck by the presentation of the forum and the green text (is my memory playing tricks?) and black background. I didn't actually become a member until 2013 preferring to just immerse myself in threads before this. I wasn't a prolific poster and made a few comments on a thread about George Adamski who has always interested me despite being an obvious fraud (or was he?). I stopped posting altogether for personal reasons in 2013 but continued to read the forum at regular intervals for many years afterward.

For me, it was a rainy night in Paris.  I was running agents through the Nazi occupation under the guise of Marcel, The Bloated One.

I was bored, down to my last 3 bottles of wine.

We spoke of conspiracy and leftists, and often of boobs.

It was a dark time, but a time we all shared.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

I made  another account around 2010 i had good vibes there until the Trump monsters arrived

The Trump monsters are still under your bed.

ATS was great until the butt hurt Leftists invaded.

I searched horn sounds in the sky, after experiencing it firsthand, in a playground with lots of people.  However, only two of us ducked and even seemed to hear it.
In tune

I started as a lurker in the late 90s and then finally made an account in 2003-2004 because I wanted to make a post.

It was interesting to see the site devolve from the paranormal/conspiracy/news site I was interested in into the politically charged debate forum it seemed to become.

Both styles had their merits, but I did miss the earlier atmosphere.

I stumbled across this book at a bookstore [Image: JA57tnL.jpeg]
If it’s hot, wet and sticky and it’s not yours, don’t touch it!

I actually have that book myself....

Once, long ago, I was on ATS Live, and I secretly hoped I might get him to autograph the book...

the opportunity never came... but a book full of internet posts intrigued me...

I found it 'ironically' pleasant.
