Is South Park Even Funny Anymore?

Some of it is funny, some of it is just crass and goes beyond satire into paid mud slinging, but that's okay because you have a vehement illogical dislike of a stranger, and feel you are okay in laughing at what to some people is not funny, because you feel like you are part of the superior more intelligent group and you want to make sure you are on the 'right side'. I for one, laugh when it's funny, like the cops misunderstanding the AI video situation, but personally I don't find homosexual sex between strangers very humorous, it just puts me off.

It's just funny, but I really don't take it as seriously as you apparently do.

Lighten up, mate.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope.  Nothing...

I have nothing serious to do with it -
Not only do I not know Matt and Trey, I also don't know JD Vance, or Donald Trump.
I am merely sharing my opinion in a thread on the TV show that I watched today, that some of it seemed desperate for attention and gross and some of it was funny.
The kernel of my post is as simple as that.

Illogical dislike of a stranger?
Orange Man Bad bandwagon...

So where does Trump fit into the kleptocurrency scam?

He seems to be pushing it wholeheartedly and fulfilling his function as a further thief of the middle class and tokenisation of all real assets, ie creating the digital concentration camp I warned about in my other thread.
You dont think I like Trumps policies right now do you, simply because I find certain parts of a television show crass or unfunny?  Surely you are able to separate things in your life rather than a one sized fits all black and white reaction?

I really don't presume to know anything about the creator's intent... it seems multi-layered, and often blithely skips over interesting opportunities as if they weren't just as funny....  i.e.

After so long... the trump whatever fixation is one-note... the Satan/villain romance 'loosing it's edge... and it keeps veering from the gang... as a group of observers and agents in confused South Park.

None of that is bad... this is their world to make.

I suppose I am just not part of what the industry 'declares' a relevant audience...

That's what I was trying to say, apparently poorly.
The Trump part of it it reads to me like a kind of weird virtue signalling using satire as an excuse, rather than cutting edge or even clever ideas.  Anyone can be a potty mouth and show someone they dont like in gross positions.  It takes no foresight.

The AI stuff is on point , no one had been talking about that, but seeing the Trump reaction seems very over the top in an unbalanced way, to me personally.

imo the crassness of South Park is aimed directly at trolling MAGA
The same way MAGA likes to troll the left
It's all stupid

My opinion of Trump is he's an extremely corrupt conman
I do dislike him but I think my dislike is logical not illogical
If you hate corruption, you're not going to have much love for corrupted people

It's one thing to dislike or hate someone but it's another thing to find something unfunny.
Don't tell me you laugh at people you dislike getting shot?

It's one thing missing in this time, it's decorum. It's cultured and calm conversation.
I refuse to lower myself to a level of a political stooge or a conman, myself.

Don't care one way or the other, really
Never was a fan of South Park

I just know their stuff isn't meant to be super clever or intellectually stimulating
It's meant to get under MAGA skin

I have been a fan since the first Christmas pilot back in the 90s.

That's why watching it now I find I laugh far less than 10 years ago, because it only has half the clever satire it used to, it is more focussed on crassness and political mud slinging.
So that is disappointing and also I just felt like sharing that I found some parts unfunny and very forced.

Apparently to a lot of people that automatically makes me a Trump supporter in their minds.  Which is bizarre af, as the world is made of more than 2 colours, but it is what it is , I suppose.

It's also why I stopped posting so much on this forum , the discussions lead nowhere as people seem unwilling to move outside of a binary or partisan view of life into something with nuance where we can learn or stretch our thinking.
