Street Slang and Coded Language
#11
Some people see/hear "coded words" and "dog-whistles" everywhere.

These are the same folks that deem individualism., patriotism, personal responsibility, competitiveness, math...an inexhaustible list to be sure, as racism based on colonialism and toxic masculinity.

All these years....

Man... it never clicked that people would encode bias... in what was often
publicly portrayed as mostly good-spirited admiration. A twist the media made famous.

But also, thereby defeating Bias' entrenched imperative to spread - somehow.

NOW... bias is being used as a contrivance of maniplation
in separate clusters of target communities....

Of course, this has been happening as a continuous "en masse" exercise since the consolidation
of the "proverbial" Press.

Seems true enough to me, at least based on those search results I got. I imagine an AI bot would support the same bias as the search engine, only more.

I imagine there are pipes and wires all over under that hood, but the fuel is internet content, yours, mine, everyone's. I tested this with some original material I posted on my own website, and the AI used my research in its output. Not only that, but it also ignored other information on the same webpage because it didn't fit with the mainstream accepted story, so it only selected my content based on some predetermined process. In other words, the search engines and AI bots are purposefully biased in the results and responses they give.

ETA: I used exact quotes for two different subjects on the same page to test this bias. The AI bot quoted some of my content for the one story and entirely ignored the other story on that page, so that no direct quotes were acknowledged.

No denigration of red-heads will stand.

They have magical powers.

Just curious, as the idea of subculture use of language, the drug culture, for example, had come to mind. I had also thought to focus on liberal vs conservative use of language to see what possible slang is being used on either side of the aisle. Basically, I was looking into the current popular use of speech, the leading edge of our living language. It never got that far before the search engine bias took over.

I started with street slang and found that it apparently began with escaped slaves on the Underground Railroad and later evolved in urban areas where blacks migrated after the Civil War, and became modern street slang. I got mostly hip hop references from that search, and it wasn't inclusive of the slang used by white people. So I changed the search to "street slang coded language", and suddenly I found references to white coded language almost exclusively.

The bias of these reports was plainly evident, as apparently, the only slang white people use is for racist references in the form of commonly used words. Some examples include . . .

The above quote is the line of reasoning used for white street slang apparently. Now, no matter how neutral the term, the left will characterize it as "coded" and racist if it is used by the right. In addition, they literally believe that the Trump MAGA conservatives developed and refined this conservative-coded language they claim white people are using against people of color.

There are some that apply this idea to both sides . . .

Still, the bulk of "coded" language is something that is being characterized as white slang used to conceal racist comments. Basically, they scrutinize every word white conservatives say in order to reveal the racist/fascist nature they believe white people are born with. I believe that their premise is that white people are natural born racists, and so everything they say or do is racist at its very core.

This extreme attitude is actually more common than you'd believe, but to be expected with the level of hate that the liberal left has for the conservative right. I can see now how these extreme leftists are becoming so violent as to start a shooting war with the MAGA minions. They seriously believe white people are "unredeemable deplorables" and must be eliminated "by any means necessary". I bet they think that killing a white conservative, or even a black one, is doing the world a great favor, that it isn't a murder but a justifiable homicide or even a mercy killing.

Clearly, if any of us choose to measure our own speech by someone else's standard, by someone else's judgement, our only choice is to STFU, or go live apart from people.   Curiously enough, it often seems to me it is enough just to live apart from cities; rural people appear to find it easier to work together without strife.

Yikes!
I often wondered.  Since ginger isn't red AFAIK.
