What's in a name

As I've said...we have cats. A lot of cats....and my Wife names them so if if it's weird, it's her fault.

We have :

Whiskey
Turtle
Ozzy
Redrum { that's murder spelled backwards }
Randy Rhoades
Slim Shady
Snots
Squirrel
Ghost
Tony not Tiger { because there were 2 that looked exactly alike and one was name Tony and one was named Tiger but Tiger disappeared }
Sybil { because she has a different personality every day }
Dracula { friggin' HUGE black cat with long fangs that hang out of his mouth }
Boxcar Willie { he shows up every few days so he's a hobo }
Shithead
Tinker
Pepe Le Pew { solid black/long haired/fluffy with a white stripe down his back. When he first wandered up I just thought he was another skunk but nope...it's a cat }

...and there's female I call Baby Mama who Will Not let us catch her so we can get her fixed, so now we have a litter of 4 who haven't been named yet.

You think it's easy catching a mostly feral cat ? Remember that scene in Rocky where he's chasing a chicken ? Yeah..that. With teeth, claws and a willingness to use them.

I buy cat food in 30lb bags.

Oh, not no, but HELL NO. All outside except for 2.
Strays that wander up. During the Winter I fix up houses for them but during the Summer they just roam.

All either rescue Cats or strays that just turned up.


Carl was a rescue cat described as "Would suit living on a farm".

I think what they should have said was "Completely Feral".

My first cat was when I was about 6 and we named it Hoppity because it hopped after bugs a lot.
Then we had Frisky around 10 years old or so.
Then Abigale Adams (it was Americas 200th B'day year and we were being patriotic) as a teenager.

I used to volunteer with the Human Association for this state ... with the cats not the dogs ... and I once adopted out a black cat to a family and the cat's name was Satan.  That was his orphan name.  The people decided to keep the name.

My 90 year old mother adopted three feral cats in a row ... named each on 'kitty'.

He's a Tuxedo Cat.

We renamed Merlin.  His elderly owner, who couldn't look after him, called him Sambo.

We could hardly call him in shouting "SAMBO"!  Could we?
