Not in favour of this. Doesn’t interest me but just seems like needless censorship. Too much control from either left or right is bad. 

in the USA there would surely be 1st amendment rights challenges, and others. Just seems like lunacy and over reach.

As far as im aware, porn income isn't tax-exempt.

And taxed like any other job.

As to regulations, i imagine they are about obscenity or age-related laws, and for very good reason.

Think about using a VPN to bypass a ban? That would be illegal too.

Additionally, H.B. 4938 features a provision directly targeting trans people, banning content that “includes a disconnection between biology and gender by an individual of 1 biological sex imitating, depicting, or representing himself or herself to be of the other biological sex by means of a combination of attire, cosmetology, or prosthetics, or as having a reproductive nature contrary to the individual’s biological sex.” This provision appears to not only ban depictions of trans people but could also potentially be applied to drag queens.

We have the verification thing in Texas. It’s stupid and only works on the porn sites that abide by the law. You can Duck Duck Go and see all the naked people you want. Not that I’m one of those types. Lol
But I think it’s just political theater and soap boxing from the Ted Cruz types. I vote conservative mostly but I don’t agree with everything they do. 
I remember a Democrat Texas congressman writing a bill banning all guns. Mark Vessey I believe. Both sides do dumb stuff, but it seems those of us on the Right are more critical of our elected officials than those on the left that follow the party line straight down the old crapper where they sit currently.

And now about the porn. They probably included the trans part to get this bill shot down quickly. The more people against it, the quicker it will go away. 

The politicians that introduce the bill and supported it, are just wanting to be seen as trying to do something and not really expecting it to pass.

Again, porn funds many more things than most realize. Historically even printing presses for Bibles.

Pornography is promoting degenerate behavior in an effort to destroy our culture, our American way of life. It's part of the 45 communist goals entered into congressional records. 

However, this bothers me because how will you judge what is pornographic? Better yet, the question should be "who will judge what is pornographic?" Can someone's subjective reaction (being aroused) to a video, a song, a book, or an artwork be enough to label it porn? Is it porn or is it "erotic" or "mature"? Where do you draw the line?

I think it is probably a good thing to ban Porn in Michigan, Most kids can watch it on the internet from free porn sites.  Kids can disable filters faster than most parents can these days, so banning it is probably good.  I also think they should get some more stringent standards on TV shows, seems like there are too many bed scenes in shows now, what happened to M and R ratings being on shows now, and even some what we think of as cartoons have way too much sexual speech content in them for the kids to be viewing on the internet.   We were shocked at the shows that the great grandkids were watching, and we were unaware there are many cartoons that are not appropriate for kids.

We do not want to set our internet to limit the wife and I from watching some shows like the Fire department shows, but it seems lately all of those shows that should be appropriate have more and more gay couples making out and adults in bed, even though full nudity is not happening, kids under nine or ten should not be exposed to stuff like that.  It is like these productions are trying to increase sexual/romantic behavior in young kids.  That should be something for more mature teens, not younger kids.

But I know the world is changing here in America, and now I am starting to question if my parents generation was right to restrict the airing of TV shows like they did.  I am seventy, I have seen this evolve, and also have seen increases in pedophyle activity and pregnancies turning to abortions.  Maybe the buck has to stop at my generation, we fought to increase things on TV, and it went too far.  Ten year olds should not have to be thinking about romance and dating yet, and included in that would be gay activity or changing of sex.

I have no problem with them banning porn on the internet in Michigan.

You could be right LightAngel. Perhaps it's best for people like me to just accept what is and leave others to do what they like. In reality who am I to judge anyone? It might be that some need that outlet. The whole idea of it is ridiculous to me, truly.

I was prompted by your reply to Google Islam and porn. It would appear that it is forbidden and yet I wouldn't for a minute think those countries are safe for young women...perhaps less safe even.

Bear in mind, I have been celibate for forty years lol.
