WA government announces long-promised Exmouth Gulf Marine Park

While yeah its is great and all for the environment, but wont someone think of the aliens? Its a total hotspot, or is that just air traffic from HEH airbase?.

 

The WA Premier, Roger Cook, has announced a new marine park will be created that encompasses the entirety of the Exmouth Gulf. The plans to protect the globally significant marine habitat off WA's North West Cape have been announced after decades of advocacy by conservationists. The region is adjacent to the world heritage listed Ningaloo Reef, which is home to whale and dugong nurseries, and one of WA's most productive prawn fisheries. Mr Cook says the marine park will be jointly managed with traditional owners to protect its cultural and environmental values and preserve ongoing social and economic activities in the area. Reporter: Alistair Bates (Karratha)
