Speculation: what archaeological sites will be found in the near future?
#1
What are you hoping to, expecting to, or wish to see archaeologists find in the near future?

1. A flowering of human culture in the Eemian (130,000 - The Last Interglacial) years ago but which died out
2. Connection being the Ubaid, Sumer and Gobekli Tepe
3. Homo Erectus in the Americas
4. A 'settlement' of crude structures found - a 'village' going back to 300,000 years ago
5. A 'cemetery' going back 750,000 years ago
6. A large canoe/raft/'boat' going back 100,000 years ago
7. A village or grouping of habitations going back 15,000 years ago
8. Early domestication of animals back to 20,000 years
9. Early domestication of plants back to 30,000 years ago
10. Better weapons – spear thrower, bow and arrow 75,000 years ago

All of the above.

I would like to see proof of an ancient civilization older than Çatalhöyük. I believe we as humans congregated far earlier than current archaeological finds suggest.

We are and were social beings. Even the earliest humans.

Ah so Atlantis, it seems, based on the current evidence we had  -we'll never find Atlantis unfortunately. Richat is a natural formation and doesn't fit well with what Plato made up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXaI4mtYtaE. https://youtu.be/_3ZAdfs0x-Y and some science: https://www.academia.edu/.../The_eye_of_Africa_Richat...Nope in the wrong place, not underwater, tilted, larger than Plato wrote, missing the inter connecting canals (Critias). "And beginning from the sea they bored a canal of three hundred feet in width and one hundred feet in depth and fifty stadia in length, which they carried through to the outermost zone, making a passage from the sea up to this, which became a harbour, and leaving an opening sufficient to enable the largest vessels to find ingress. Moreover, they divided at the bridges the zones of land which parted the zones of sea, leaving room for a single trireme to pass out of one zone into another, and they covered over the channels so as to leave a way underneath for the ships; for the banks were raised considerably above the water."

Generally, one could suspect that large collections of humans all around the world suddenly appeared in their various locations, primed and ready with wisdom and scientific knowledge about everything to build their amazing, early civilizations.  That would explain a lot, except for who brought them.

You might find this a shock, but planets do not start off, inhabitable.  They must be Terraformed.  We really need to go back to  the Black Board......   Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

You know how the Nag Hammadi library was probably books hidden circa A.D.367 after they were banned?

I'm thinking wouldn't it be cool if circa A.D. 100, the bulk of the Library of Alexandria got hidden away, well some time before A.D. 260. Wouldn't it be cool to find the secret hidden cache?
Quote:3. Homo Erectus in the Americas

That would be cool. Then if they evolved to Homo Sapien in America they would be real American natives like the coyote and the jaguar.
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama
