The Chosen series
#1
I started watching this series around 2021.  I had vaguely heard of it and ran across a news article and decided to check it out.

It’s the story of Jesus ministry and the choosing of his disciples.  The title indicates that and it’s written through the eyes of the 12 disciples, in a round about way.

I’m not a big teevee watcher other than local news for weather and traffic or an old movie occasionally but this series is the exception.  I have binged watched a few times and currently rewatching the first 4 seasons on Prime.  The 5th season is coming out in a couple of weeks.

There is the free Chosen app where all episodes can be watched.  There is first 4 are on it and the new season 5 will be on the app by the end of summer or early fall.

if you haven’t seen it, please check it out.  I know there’s been many movies about Jesus but I’ve never seen anything like this.

Anyway I just wanted to share.

Watched the first couple of seasons and enjoyed them, haven’t got back to watch the rest yet, planning to.
It was pretty good and I imagine reasonably accurate
Be interesting Mel Gibsons movie coming soon as well.

I’m looking forward to the new Mel Gibson movie too.  There are a few liberties that are taken with the Chosen, for example Thomas and Reyma but for the most part it is biblically accurate.

hope you get a chance to catch up soon.  Im retired but working at a school this month so it will probably be July before I get a chance to watch Season 5.

I did see that they’ve finished filming in Utah for season 6 but they also film in Texas so looks like it’s close to going to editing.

Creaky, I won’t do a spoiler alert but have you figured out who Yusef is?  Wink2

I've absolutely loved the series.  I seen the first four seasons and I'm planning on watching season 5 on Prime later this month.

To the last poster, I haven't figured out Yusef.  In fact I wasn't aware there was anything more to him...

Yusif is Joseph of Armethia

Thanks for creating the thread.

I love this series and it really has helped me to reestablish my faith. I encourage everyone to watch it. It is amazing.

I never understood what was so great about eternity. Like what would i enjoy forever and ever and ever. From watching this show i realized that i could watch Jesus perform miracles for eternity. :)

Apparently they are going to have a live stream with the production team of the first episode of Season 5 tomorrow night at 8:00 pm eastern time but I will have to wait because I have to get up early Monday for work.

Im retired but have a temp job through the 30th.  It’s about a 40 minute drive so I usually leave by 6:30 am.  I’m working at a school in the office for summer school.

Not sure if it’s app only or on Prime.

Ok I’ve watched the first 3 episodes of Season 5 and just wow.  I watched the first two episodes on Prime and the 3rd on YouTube livestream with Dallas Jenkins.  That livestream viewing was only available until June 19.

I’ve been reading the book of John lately and when I watched episode one, the Holy Spirit was so strong.  I wasn’t watching actors even if they had been different people.  The fact that Jesus in his final days was so lamented about his beloved daughter Israel and knew Jerusalem destruction was close, was overwhelming.

I actually waited to watch the 2nd episode later in the week.  I couldn’t stop thanking Him for his grace and forgiveness to me.  It’s strange that all last week I felt I was battling demons but praise the Lord he protected me and led me through.
