I would hazard a guess because it meets their profit margins and bottom lines and they have been doing it since the 1940s and consumers (mostly uneducated at the onset) just bought these products without any thought, except for how some harmful products are more convenient and cheaper. So here we are! ---- "Healthy products without harmful chemicals are more expensive primarily due to higher production costs, lower yields, and the exclusion of cheap synthetic inputs. Conventional manufacturing relies on synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, and preservatives that maximize crop yields and extend shelf life, significantly reducing waste and labor. In contrast, organic and natural methods often require more manual labor for weed and pest control, utilize costlier natural fertilizers, and suffer from smaller harvests because they cannot use growth hormones or highly effective synthetic chemicals. Additionally, supply chain inefficiencies and market dynamics contribute to the price premium. Natural products typically have a shorter shelf life, leading to higher rates of spoilage and waste that manufacturers must offset with higher prices. These items are also produced on a smaller scale by fewer farms, meaning they lack the economies of scale that allow mass-produced processed foods to achieve lower unit costs. Finally, companies charge more because consumers are often willing to pay a premium for the perceived health and safety benefits associated with chemical-free labels." (LLM) --- I would think the reasons above would apply to almost any 'forever chemical'-type product and governments and companies don't keep up with inflation relating to wages, so people end up having no choice but to turn to the cheaper alternatives, which are not the healthy ones.

So here we are! - You'll be dead in a week, but everyone will love how bright and yellow your bananas look! - No more rough dry elbows with flesh-away. Works in minutes, lasts for years! - Are you feeling a bit dull and faded in the morning? Forget that and drink RadiumFizz (*now fortified with Strontium-90). Bring back that "glow". Joking aside, I think environmental agencies should enforce companies to pay reparations for anyone who can reasonably claim injury by a toxic product, as well as a hefty fine to fund development of safe alternative products... from safe alternative companies. Lives are valuable and irreplaceable.

Great thread - hadn't seen this on ATS. Unfortunately it's not just Monsanto who take part in the practice - most, if not all, major companies, governments and banks do this and have PR systems set up to automatically detect journalists, activists and researchers looking into scandalous topics. PI's and similar are hired to dig up dirt on them and release/fabricate character assasinations to discredit them and minimise harm to their reputation once the truth leaks out. Once a company is multi-billion dollar major employer they can apply for access to industrial espionage gathered by thar countries intelligence agency as the economy and employment levels are a major part of national security on par with defence.

And if some seeds inadvertently gets blown away and sprouts, you're in trouble for "breach of contract". GMO is still illegal here for consumer produce, like tomatos and pumpkins and bears oh my... Its GMO canola that is in "testing'' still ends up in the food chain. It makes the bees make really shit honey. So many enviros think canola that uses less water is a better option that not clearing land for canola. But have you fkn seen these "influencers" taking pcs in the canola flower shit. Appreciate the replies guys - some truly great commentary there (I truly hate shills lol) - absolute public pressure 'does' work and reckon folks hold far more power over these psycho corporations than they care to realise.
To my mind it all goes back to this warning from Nuremberg about the eugenicist IGFarben fanatics (and corporate sponsors of Auschwitz) QUOTE: • "These IG Farben criminals, not the lunatic Nazi fanatics, are the main war criminals. If the guilt of these criminals is not brought to light and if they are not punished, they will represent a much greater threat to the future peace of the world than Hitler if he were still alive.” General Telford Taylor.
