Considering the vast questioning and speculative posts on your thread, it appears I am not alone.
Maybe we should turn our attention to archaeology of orality and social memory, those songs and stories handed down through the generations? Of course, it would depend on what alleged historical facts one is interested, such as volcanic eruptions in Australia. It's just another avenue we might want to pursue to get to the truth.

"Emerging frameworks on the nature and mechanisms of orality provide a theoretical foundation for explaining how information can be passed across multiple generations over long time periods while maintaining vitality, focusing on the method of loci as a key mechanism linking memory to place (Bradley and Families, 2010). But the length of time oral traditions can be passed down is a topic of ongoing debate."

"The Ojibwe Creation Myth
One prominent story from the Ojibwe people involves Sky Woman, who falls from the sky world. As she descends, various animals attempt to help her find solid ground. When they fail, the Great Turtle offers its back as a place for her to land. Upon landing, Sky Woman plants seeds from the sky world, which grow into plants and eventually form the land. This story highlights the turtle's role as a steadfast foundation and its connection to the natural world."

"The gods who descended from the stars and the civilizations that believed themMany early cultures believed their gods descended from the stars. Whether myth or memory, these stories reveal how ancient people saw their origin in the sky."
"The earliest written literature emerged in Sumer (based on current evidence), in what is now southern Iraq. Its tablets record a world where deities were not distant concepts. They were rulers, architects, and enforcers. Among them were the so-called Anunnaki, a group of divine beings associated with the heavens, the underworld, and the fate of humankind."

We have the stories, songs and early written literature handed down through the generations which may point to a historical reality, but we seem to find many reasons to simply dismiss it as myth.
