But my Grandma [mom's mom] also smoked like a chimney all the way to her last day at 96 years old and never had any problems related to smoking. But she smoked unfiltered Camels and my mom smoked filtered Camels. Maybe it's the filter.
I have known many children of smokers that have ongoing respiratory problems, most likely due to growing up around cigarette smoke.
That doesn't mean the tobacco companies aren't using toxic chemicals. It is safe to assume that they are. All sorts of bad chemicals have been added to everything we use for hundreds of years.
There looks to be plenty of evidence showing that children exposed to cigarettes are more likely to have health problems.
