And we have lost way more property than with DeSantis' hurricanes.
Standard rant disclaimer..
Newsom's fires? Now while I knew he was everyone's Satan incarnate I didn't know he was capable of moving pressure systems and making it not rain and be above average temperatures.
For all the denial of climate change going on, people seem to forget we are on fire in our rainy season. Santa Anas rare January appearance. While La Nina generally keeps us drier, no rain by Mid-January is rare.
As rare as the total 31 inches LA got in the 2022-2023 water year. That seems odd The swings are getting extreme when they happen.
But let's play a climate game.
Let's play the game "Hottest year ever."
It's like the racist game where you put in Google, "_______ is racist." And laugh at the results.
Essentially you put in ANY global location and say "Hottest year ever in ________."
99% of results are after 2015.
If it's cycle, a natural cycle, as people want to say, it's one that's still going to be bipolar and flood coastlines within 75 years. The Hottest years ever will keep current as the swings become more pronounced. Polar vorticies and 22 in Orlando will become as yearly as high pressure domes and 112 in Vancouver.
A changing climate changes violently through rampant swings that have significant sigma variance from expected averages.
That's all out climate is the past decade. Violent swings between hot and cold.
And that's why this is annoying. It's like a concerted effort to blame liberal leadership before liberals can blame climate change.
To make sure everyone blames liberal leaders for daring to defund the first responders for their woke DEI initiatives. Now the LA mayor is the first female Ray Nagen, and her DEI hire fire chief is a freaking martyr.
Which if funny, because if NO FUNDING WAS CUT, everyone would be saying, "They failed because the fire chief was a DEI hire." Like the first female secret service chief.
But because funding was cut everyone's going to tiptoe around she is the type of appointment, IN ANY OTHER CONTEXT, that would be called out for being under qualified. Where is that now? Is it not useful this time or something?
It's the lane-switching of convenience that drives me up a wall.. A catch 22 of anger and venting that will ALWAYS find a way to blame it on the other party. It's a baffling incongruity.
Let me just say that again. Had 2% of LAFDs budget not been cut, or even expanded, or the reservoir wasn't being repaired, the fault would lie squarely on the LA Fire Chief being a DEI hire and underqualified, just like it was with the SS Chief. No two ways about it.
That's what is actually rigged, this criticism of liberals, is rigged to be on a permanent attack and always be correct in some way shape of form.
