If anyone ever feels they have no control over anything in this world, well we all have control over our individual actions and we can make small changes within our small scope of our world and with the people that come into our sphere.
For instance, I have been generously donating to The Salvation Army every Christimas each time I grocery shop, well my daughter just told me that that organization refuses to help LGBTQ families. I can tell you that I will donate to other organizations that help all people because even LGBTQ families have children that may need assistance and that fact should change any organization's way of doing things. Be better Salvation Army.
What else am I thinking about? Well I made homemade pseudo-Bailey's but after smelling both Jameson and Bushmill, I had to choose Jameson because it had the closest smell to actual Bailey's and it came out too choclately (next time only 2 tablespoons of Hershey's chocolate syrup) and way too boozy (next time only 1 3/4 cup whiskey) and maybe just a touch more almond extract. I will be making another bottle soon, more to my tastes but I made that bottle for my son, who knows he may like it that way.
Right now I am thinking about ingredient amounts to turn the Bushmill whiskey into a pseudo-Fireball concoction. I just ordered Indonesian cinnamon sticks and dried poblano peppers from Amazon for the heat and spice. It's both art and science getting these recipes just right.
A little aniseed or star anise would be worth it, I'd imagine a bit syrup will be needed too for fireball, maybe honey or maple syrup just because?
Drambuie would make a good base too I'd imagine.
Now you've got me thinking about stuff I can quickly make over the next few days, ginger beer and mulled wine? Not together of course... Although?
