Going to simplify this!
Sneaky is bad, if someone is hurting you, avoid them. There is too much good in the world to waste on manipulation and people who should not be in your orbit.
I recently went thru something with a woman I go to church with. I’ve known her for a year. Seems very genuine and kind. Started getting red flags a couple months ago. Actually, the beginning but I ignored it!
A quick google search done by one of my relatives reveals she had tried to sue at least 5 very reputable agencies/clergy, all were dismissed.
She also harbored a fugitive who was committing robberies of several places, then tried to sue the police that searched her house .
There is so much more, but I’ll leave it at that! Sadly, I have to find a new church because I will not ever be around her again.
There are better people for you out there!
