Ask any member from a previous generation, and they will have been accused of similar 'short fallings', and once that generation reaches a certain age, they too will complain about the same things they heard in their youth. This has been the same in civilized countries for many many generations.
Something you seem to miss in your opening post? Has Russia stagnated compared to the rest of the civilized world? I wouldn't image so from what my friends wife says, perhaps it's just bias or propaganda, an old persons disillusioned view of the young??
