It sounds plausible that they need a smite.
What I hesitate on is:
1. When the US does a smite, it often doesn't actually work, instead creating blowback
2. There seems to always be an ulterior motive
And what business is it of America anyway?
But I don't think my opinion is gonna change anything, so whatever.
