I am having difficulty understanding this Madison Avenue/Hollywood scenario where evidence gathered to support felony charges with like international ramifications, can be "tainted"in some 'hidden' way.

Evidence is catalogues and specifically defined when "selected."
It is registered and noted with all legal certainty...

There IS no "bag of evidence" you can "slip some fraudulent document in."

The record says, and asserts (for legal purposes) what it is that is evidence... what it consists of... a description ... and WHO (which officer) is responsible for it being there... (also where that evidence can be found physically.)

If anyone did see fit to"insert" garbage.... if it wasn't "registered" at all ... once found the custodians CAN BE CHARGED
if deliberate malfeasance is discovered... another felony...

First off.. I bet you there never was an "Epstein List" that actually came from the investigation... it wasn't evidence... it was a list resulting from the analysis of the evidence... i.e. it was an inconvenient addendum to the evidence... it's 'conclusive' indicator of complicity... established for legal inquiry.... due process... (but it was "officially registered?")

(I think you can't even "change" the record.... the record itself would reflect a change "on this date" and at least "under the authority of which office or officer of the court.")

Now the "list" is being spoken of in the media as if it had been written in Epstein's hand... or found in his pocket.... rather than some agent (or agency's) published product... (ANOTHER implicit lie being slathered into the narrative here...)

I would wager that like many of their generation, the perpetrators are hubris-filled, and only marginally aware that there is this 'internet' thing now... and they are no longer really 'safe.'

I know you can't take the political blinkers off, but this is being covered up by Trump, who originally used the Epstein case to fire up his MAGA base saying it was all being cover up. Now all of a sudden, it's not real??
Maxwell, even though guilty as hell, could use it as evidence she did nothing and it was all an extortion for money by the victims.

Thought experiment: Consider the following.... I'm going to come to your home town with my retired DOJ ID, and bring along a retired FBI friend of mine. We are going to go to the principal and teachers at the school where your kids attend, and we are going to tell them that you are a pedophile. We can't tell them how we know, but we just want them to know what we know about you.
Then we're going to attend a Sunday service at the church you attend, and share the same information with the parishioners who are your friends and neighbors.
Then we're going to attend a morning meeting of the Optimist Club where you are a member and repeat what we know about you, and just assure them that the information is in government records they can't see, but it is there.
Then we'll go to go the VP of personnel of the company where you are a senior manager and supervise close to 100 people. They will learn the same information.
Then I'm going to leave town and never return. You can then go about trying to repair your reputation in the community.

That's what innocent people whose names are contained in the "Epstein Files" would face if they were just opened up to public scrutiny.
